ParticipantPablo, I haven’t tried their cab yet, I also saw it for the first time at Ralph’s recently. You are exactly right, after Costco blows the floor off something, it’s hard to break out $19 on sale when you know the everyday price is $13 at costco, hopefully costco will get the cab. Cabs sometimes have a higher price but their merlot was the same price or close at Ralphs. It’s not the money as much as the fear of liking it more and then not having a steady, cheap supply. I try to only get hooked on costco wines for daily drink since it probably equals my food budget.
Josh, nice finds, it’s funny how the costco stores vary so much from store to store, even if it is random it works as a marketing strategy at least on me, I regularly pop in a different store if I’m in the area just to check out what they have. I’d join you in the case buying but my wine cellar fridge thing is packed, I need a bigger one before I buy anything more that needs to lay down.
Regarding the mention of aging two buck chuck, while most cheaper wines are designed to drink and not age, a few years in a cupboard will kill anything, regardless of price. Room temperature is the enemy, so is a regular fridge. Very hard to find a place in so cal that maintains a room temp in the 60’s year round so that you can store for years without some mechanical intervention. I have friends that have converted a closet and installed an a/c type unit in them so they are much larger and cheaper than freestanding cellars. Except ports, they were invented to withstand the long and sometimes warm journey from Portugal to England, think of them as wine’s version of beef jerky, come to think of it, both are awesome inventions.

Participantequalizer, I didn’t post links because I didn’t take pictures. With 5 minutes of searching the internet I found local landscapers that specialize in low water native landscapes, but if I link them then it may come off as an endorsement.
All I can say is that, like DW and UCgal, when you see a well done low water yard in person, it will make you want to rip out your lawn, they actually look better. If it were cars, the prius’ guzzle gas and the ferrari’s get the best mpg. I have a standard suburban lawn but it’s very high on my list to change that and it’s not to save water, that is a mere side benefit.

ParticipantThis is why I hate politics. No matter if it’s your guy or not, if you don’t like war you wont like war, no matter who is at the helm. I wasn’t a fan of the last guy and the new guy wasn’t my first pick but I beleive neither man is an evil man and neither wants their soldiers to die. Obama has the reigns now, he gets info that none of us do, so as much as we’d like to second guess him, our opinions are uneducated. If a conservative and a liberal both feel we need to be somewhere in the middle east I almost feel that’s enough check and balance for me, I’m done doubting and I firmly believe they both have my safety in mind. If the most liberal president in decades feels we need to kill some terrorists, we probably do, I’ll do what I can, in fact I’m probably more supportive than I have ever been because it feels unanimous. Instead of worrying about strategy, how about this:

The funny thing about soldiers, I haven’t heard them whining about putting their lives at risk, they probably don’t want you doing it for them. When will it be enough to convince you that despite the history of the world, sometimes it boils down to the good guys and the bad guys. Why is every war vietnam, where are the wwII comparisons? Anybody feel that was a waste of time? We don’t all get to be the president, but we get to vote and that day is over. Regardless if you voted for him or not, he is our guy right now and he’s a pretty bright guy, so back the home team or get off my island (sorry, shameless Braveheart quote).

ParticipantFacts? Data? Where? All you have is your personal “interviews.” Here are some facts from the FBI universal crime reporting, maybe those cameras are working.
http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/cius2007/data/table_08_ca.html
Those are the 2007 numbers, 2008 numbers are being compiled now and should be out soon.
Lookes like 2007 saw Corona get worse and Temecula get better. Corona had 340 violent crimes for 153k population to Temecula’s 207 violent crimes with 93k people, feel free to look at the link which is what we call “data.” But then again I don’t have the luxury of interviewing your friends and clipping newspaper stories (which is far more scientific and accurate than the fbi crime statistics), I guess I am forced to be “delusional.”
Don’t get me wrong, Corona is a safe community, it’s crime rate is very low but so is Temecula’s. I have no doubt you have pictures of two houses that are occupied by mexicans and that one has crap in the yard, that proves what?
What other fact did you present? I’m not calling the city and asking if they have cameras spying on me and those cameras are connected to federal database because I can’t get wine or cigars in the looney bin, so I’d rather not go. Even if it were true, who cares, wouldn’t that make it safer?
Lay off the Michael Savage for a while, it’s obviously getting to you.
