ParticipantAnd the football talk begins. Allan, I’ll agree, there are great character people in all sports, I guess even on the Raiders. That kinda hurt to type.

Participant
I’m not normally a basketball watcher, but when I saw the overtime game the other night, Kobe’s elbow to the jaw was more ruthless than I can imagine any CEO being. Not the kind of person I want my son looking up to!
Threadkiller, as someone who spends way too much time watching basketball, that elbow wasn’t a big deal, that’s just playoff basketball. Any veteran would have done the same, the defender ran into his space, he never moved his feet and he was wearing a defender from behind, the defender did it on purpose too, and flopped to the ground on purpose, that’s just a strategy. If you had seen the any of the Denver series’ or the Bulls/Celtics series this year (which was the best series I have seen in a decade), you would have vomited and put a blindfold on your kids. I think the bulls celtics games were averaging something like three players needing “in game” sideline stitches from the team doctor, my friends and I were making side wagers regarding flagrant fouls, facial bleeding, stitches, blood cleanup delays and ejections.
Lakers/Orlando was mild as far as most playoffs go, and never let anyone look up to sports stars, especially your kids, it’s entertainment, that’s all.

Participantwow, pizza, appreciation, I hadn’t thought of that. None of my current formulas or theories take that into account. If you don’t mind the temporary layover, I’d give it at least until winter before jumping back in. From memory, you liked a little land with your home, in tracking the redfin price drops, the customs on land are the ones getting the biggest beating right now, they are about 70% of the price drops but only about 10% of the market, that tells me that the gentlemen ranches are finally catching up, it might be best to let that play out. It could be that the water is tight right now, that non income ranches are bleeding people dry or that they pencil out badly as rentals so they get no investor support.
On the other hand, you got into this situation because you outsmarted the market, you got a great deal when nobody was looking, there will be other windows where you are the lone buyer as we kick along the bottom for a while, find a month to month rental until interest rates spike, kids go back to school, the rain starts, the buyers fade away for a bit and then take another bite at the apple. Personally, I couldn’t muster the energy to move again. I may live in this house till I die, for no reason other than my washer and dryer is on the second floor and I am not moving those things again, ever!!

ParticipantYou are hereby free to talk about football. I wont bore everyone with my analysis and gloating since there about five basketball fans on these boards. I will just say that this has been a great year, perhaps the best ever, my sports, my kids, my friends, my love life, I have been blessed in each area. So politics and finances have had a difficult year, stocks and investments could have gone better, who the hell cares, I wouldn’t trade one mintute of the last twelve months.
Now if the chargers win the lombardi trophy, I will be convinced that it is my world and everyone else is just living in it.
