Participantgood call pem, you will never be subject to the gyrations of the market with fundamentals like that. In 15 or 20 years you will be convinced that it was the best decision of your life. While I’ve grown to love my little patch of earth on the planet, the reason for being here and the reason I stay is the same. Having your children grow up being watched after school by their grandma, or having their grandpas offering what they think is expert advice at every soccer or football game, can’t be measured in dollars, it’s priceless. A lot of people don’t have family members that are reliable, alive, unselfish or a good influence, if you’ve got them, abuse the hell out of it. Two pieces of advice from someone who has been there, 1) never utter the words “they are my kids, let me raise them” (cause I didn’t mean it and I wish and hadn’t said it). 2) F*&K the books on raising kids, let the grandparents spoil the hell out of them, let grandma give them too much candy and let grandpa allow them to drive his car on his lap in some empty parking lot when they are twelve or light fireworks on the fourth of july.
Enjoy your home and your family!

ParticipantRecorder’s offices are county, state offices are the ones doing the friday closures, the county offices in S.D. are still open as far as I know. They must have just closed that one permanently to save money and since it’s not far from PCH.

Participantscaredy, please don’t take this the wrong way, but I think it’s time to go the extra step, cut and paste into word and spell check. That post is like six words and it takes a minute to figure out what you meant, which ruins the joke. We all have our keyboard issues, spelling isn’t a requirement because it’s just a blog. I overuse commas and I use ; instead of ‘ 1 in every 5 times. But when you blend words, and you do it in every other sentence, it just confuses the hell out of us and makes you look like you are typing on meth. I struggled with dislexia as a kid, almost had to ride the little bus. It took years to get past it. Now, after a few glasses of wine, I just break out my reading glasses and rely on my old friends at microsoft to soften the edges. Give it a spin.
On the plus side it reminded me of two of my favorite things, my favorite book about grammar, “Eats, Shoots and Leaves” and of course saturday night live’s celebrity jeopardy, in which Sean Connery always moves a letter in describing a category, check it out at about 4:45 into this video, or watch the whole thing.

and at about 4:20 into this one

just the watch the whole thing, this one is the best!
