Vote, at the end of the day, is the tyranny of the majority.
I like that saying! I think I’ll steal it!
svelteParticipantJust watched the trailer – looks good…we’ll get it on Prime and watch it.
Speaking of good video, we’ve been watching Ramy on Hulu. Pretty good stuff!
We also have been watching Hulu’s Dollface which isn’t quite as good but it has Kat Dennings in it – I really like her geek-like persona. This show does have a chick tilt to it though.
Finally, the series version of High Fidelity flips the movie version to a female cast, and it works surprisingly well. Sometimes it sticks too close to events that happened in the actual movie, but overall is worth a watch.

Being stopped at the intersection a short time today I noticed (not surprisingly) consistent mask wearing from the Biden folks and the opposite from the Trump folks.
It’s too bad that mask wearing was made into a political statement, instead of a temporary safety step and common courtesy.
svelteParticipantI got blotto after the 2016 election I was so upset.
Somehow I feel I’ll do the same after this one – I’ll be either hyper happy or hyper upset.
The next 48 hours – or more – are going to be very very stressful.
svelteParticipant
Maybe the only point of religion is to either appease or piss off ones parents.
Another scaredy classic!
svelteParticipantPS – I’ve been scratching my head as to why Republicans are more apt to wait until election day to vote…this article explains it well and once I read it, it made sense:

svelteParticipantI think we are all very anxious about this election Econ. You and I don’t agree on the best person to lead us, but we both want what’s best for this great nation.
I get a little more nervous with each passing day.
More votes have been cast so far in TX and HI than those states had in total votes in 2016. The people are trying to say something. We’ll soon know what that is.

Go! Go to your room and bite your tongue!

I don’t know how close the election will be, but I think the odds of Trump winning are extraordinarily low – it will take a miracle (eg, massive Russian interference).
In a lot of ways, it comes down to Pennsylvania and Florida – as it usually does. And those two races are really close.
svelteParticipant

Guess I’m not really in favor of rent control.
Isn’t rent control simply the proletariat’s version of prop 13?
So, if one is against rent control, one should be just as vehemently against prop 13, right?

That would hold true if one views a month-to-month (or a year lease) as a permanent contract between a landlord and tenant.
I do not, nor does the law in most locations. All terms are subject to change at the end of the month or lease.

There are a lot of people who support Trump quietly without admitting it. And certainly not admitting to it to a pollster.
My opinion is that this will be very close.

Except it was 100% stock. First year, no options, just a clean basic fun little car. I bought it from a friend of mine who was the original owner. He was buying a house in Coronado and was cashing out everything that wasn’t nailed down to afford it, so I got a good deal on it. His family was mad and thought I paid too little. So in front of his family I made him a deal – if at any point in time he wanted to buy it back, I’d sell it back to him at the same price. I wasn’t putting many miles on it so basically it would be the same car he sold me.
He never bought it back. He has since passed away, shockingly.
He got mad at me when I put chrome rings on the rims. I’ll never forget that. He wanted it to remain 100% stock.

I was kidding about the 15 lbs…. Probably closer to 7…..
If you’re talking about the difference that eating and “releasing” makes, I think it’s closer to 2-3 lbs.
I’ve tracked by weight carefully, and that’s the biggest difference I’ve seen. My lowest reading is first thing in the AM, after I’ve visited the bathroom but before I eat.
My weight can be 2-3 lbs higher at other points in the day.
When I got down to 158 lbs, my wife said I looked like I had cancer. I think my ideal weight for my frame is probably around 175 lbs. Unfortunately I’m about 10 lbs over that right now. Damn pandemic.
The heaviest I ever weighed was 199 lbs a few years back. That convinced me to revisit my intake…I never want to be 200 lbs or greater. Ever.
