Participantwouldn’t it be irritating if some knucklehead was chatting on their phone next to you in spin class and pedalling the bare minimum? wouldnt it kind of violate the entire spirit of spin?
OK. we’re coming up to n incline and youre coming up hard ona pack of 5 riders…., let’s get out of our seats and try to move up alongside this pack of riders.
“SO I sez to nancy, i sez, that dress is gawjus, but it’s just not gonna work for that mermelstein’s affair…the color is wrong….”
“and now you’re powering up the hill and your right on the tail of…
“No! She did not! She did? She did NOT!. She did! GAwd…can you believe it? I can’t beleive it…”
The entire class would come and push over that nimrod’s exerbike.

Yeah, it was pretty generous,,but I can do mid 20’s in a hour on the regular stationary training bike (lifecycle) with no class to help (though I usually do a half hour). Then I go lift girly weights and chat it up.
I have ridden on the road but won’t do it since my kids came along.
Seriously, are you that afraid? I used to go biking with my parents and sister along the coast road that goes through all the beach towns in central NJ. (Pretty similar to the stretch of 101 that goes from O’side to La Jolla, a bit narrower in places.)
Quite a bit of fun for a 8 year old, though I remember being terrified that they’d open the drawbridge while we were riding across it!

Participanti do love bicycles. and it was actually spin classes back in the late 90’s that got me into it. once i was aerobically back in shape after a few years of complete inertia,. i had the confidence and wherewithal to get going ona regular bike. it’s just not the same as an epic real ride though. for one, you’re not going to spend a whole day out and about on a spin bike, unless you’re mental. the bicycle is just different.
that said, you can definitely get your heart rate up on a spin bike. i used to wear a heart rate monitor and watch it climb climb climb! scary!
but not quite like a farmer’s walk could get it. that’s a more intense overall effort….
i’m not sure high heart rate is the whole story.
then there’s the problem of just frail bird like bones from excess cycling.
we were meant to be yoked to the earth, to heavy items. man was not meant to fly on wheels.

Participantkind of. but it’s just plain natural testosterone. i think i havemore than i am usually capable of handling.

Participantreality on a bike is generally more challenging than a spin class. reality in anything is usually more difficult.

I bet those bums are eating hotdogs and having ice-cream for desert.[/quote]yes. true. but they are distracting. I guess it’s justa question of what the purpose is.
When people go to church, they shouldn’t be on their cellphone or chatting during services.

Participantwell, i tried pure RAW MEAL, but it was just too gross. it’s plant protein. very healthy. I mix it 50-50 with muscle milk. i also use LIFE’S BASICS, which is pea, chia, hempa nd some other seed, and muscle milk. they are just not great. poder and water, waht would you expect? still, it’s cheap and easy and you can get a lot of protein in there.
it can be difficult to get a lot of protein every day without powders, if you’re looking to get a lot of protein.

ParticipantSeriously. In Ohio. One week. I want to learn how to wield a chainsaw, cut trees, and climb about.
I have 150 trees several of which need to be felled.
I’m also planning to try out axe work on some …
i would be willing to work for local arborists for no money, just mulch. lots of mulch…
in general arborists are very fit and badass…
on the downside i am a little scared of heights..
