I’m not sure what other standard there is. If you can’t afford it you can’t buy it. Shouldn’t that mean you don’t “buy anything in the end” if you can never afford anything? What am I missing?

ParticipantIt said they were making 258k in W-2 earnings, and his military pension was 45k of that. That leaves 213k. Since he’s a teacher now, the wife must be working a ton of overtime in her nursing job.
