We are in North Dallas area now. Been here about 10 days. The housing market is crazy here, homes are already under contract in 1 or 2 days. Even crappy homes needing repairs are going for asking price. We see a new listing, go visit it and the realtor already have offers on it. So far we love it here lot’s to see and do. Some beautiful areas, lots of parks and open spaces. Our realtor said prices are starting to creep up but not like Southern California spikes.
raty4RParticipantI added more information about my situation to my original post.
Thanks for the replies.raty4RParticipant@Moneymaker your charts tell me it’s time to sell my mutual funds, yikes. DOW is hitting record highs at a clip of 1/2% at a time woohoo. So not much gain overall. Was at around 16000 in Jan. and just a little over that now.
raty4RParticipantThanks for the info gentlemen. Their price to general public is $10.24. My 401k transfer price is $9.73. Their best efforts offering $1,5000,000,000 in shares.
Where or how did you guys find your information? I did several searches and mostly came up with PR and analyst comments but no concrete values.raty4RParticipantIt’s named Steadfast Income REIT or the Steadfast Companies. It’s a non-traded REIT.
raty4RParticipantBetter questions would be ‘When will the dollar stop rising? or What event(s)will cause the dollar to start losing value?’ That will tell you when to buy.
I don’t think that will happen for a while.raty4RParticipantIt’s all good now. The LAPD, oops I mean tax payers are buying the women a new truck.
“LAPD Chief Charlie Beck announced Saturday his department will provide a new truck to two women injured by officers in pursuit of fugitive ex-cop Christopher Jordan Dorner.

Once in San Diego State she was able to transfer to Texas A&M. Pretty good deal without too much debt.
You might want to check with your College/ University of choice if they have a similar program.
Me, I was too afraid to owe someone 30g’s so here I sit poor and broke..raty4RParticipantI Just paid $1300 out the door 285/75r16 GoodYears, last set of the same tires cost me $750 about 4-5 years ago. Looking back if I had changed to 18″ rims I would have found much cheaper tires.
The high price is because of the trade war with China about Chickens and tire import tarrifs. The US increased tarrifs on tires imported from China to save US tire workers. Do a Google search for more info.October 7, 2011 at 8:37 AM in reply to: It’s going to get much worse…there is no escape (ECRI) #730245raty4RParticipantRE: “In other words, do we really need to worry about a scenario where prices go up, but not our paychecks?
What could cause this, and has it ever happened?”It’s happening now, at least to those in my circle. We haven’t had a raise at my work in three years. We were talking last week, about how a couple of years ago we could afford to go out to lunch a couple of times a week and a happy hour or two a month. Not now. Some/ all mentioned we are even cutting back on other expenses and still don’t have the extra money. So yes it’s happening now. I definitly don’t have the extra cash like I used to. Looking to buy a house now just to save money.
ha! “their” plan is working!raty4RParticipantGo to a Startup Weekend event. Business startup in 54 hours.
I just went to this event a couple of weeks ago. Very cool. If you have a business idea you pitch it to the other attendees. When I went there were ~70 people, ~30 business pitches. Everyone votes on the top 10, then people join whatever project team they want. Developers, graphic artist, moble app guys, marketing, sales etc. People joined teams based on their interest in the project, their talent or to find something to challenge them. Talent gets ‘traded’ too. “We have too many developers & we’ll trade you for a database guy” You can see the results of the last one here http://sandiego.startupweekend.org/
