FSD you missed the point. Sure, both CNN and Fox mentioned Ron Paul’s fund raising record, but they were buried. Instead we got classic headlines like:
“Pinups of bikini-clad women aid jailbreak”
I have since checked CNN and they FINALLY have it as one of their headlines.

There is no validity with the argument that he is a minority candidate because he is low in the polls, and therefore he shouldn’t be covered as much. I seriously question the methodology of the polls and the people that they are surveying.

rankandfileParticipantTo question the validity of this blog is to question the thought process of our country in general. Yes, there are a bunch of members that appear to be bearish on the real estate market. This doesn’t make it wrong per se, but rather lends further credence to the fact that “birds of a feather flock together”. With that said there are many members of this blog, though they are likely a minority, who are more bullish on real estate.
I will not re-hash the sound statements made by Bugs, Hippmatt, Rustico, and NSR. I will only continue to state the obvious. The members of this blog are a cross-section of our country. Many of them, including myself, do not wish ill-will on anyone who is suffering from the current real estate meltdown. All they are seeking, and rightfully so in my opinion, is justification for deciding not to participate in the previous real estate bubble. Others may come across as crass by exclaiming that they can’t wait to see property owners burn at the stake. I think a great percentage of this fervor can be attributed to the anonymity of the internet.
We don’t want to see people suffer, we don’t want to have a government bailout. All we want is for real estate to come back to a level that is more in line with other leading economic indicators, such as income or wages.

rankandfileParticipantNow I know why:
1) Both political parties want illegal immigration from Mexico – no other nationality is procreating fast enough to provide enough consumers to help buoy the lagging housing demand and failing social security fund.
2) The Fed talks a tough game about wanting to protect inflation but doesn’t give a frog’s fat @ss about it. The truth is the Fed is only concerned with short-term appeasement of politicians, high rollers and players in the financial and energy markets, and the sheeple who are stupid enough to believe that they are trying to actually help us. Amero, here we come!!!
The Fed is fully aware that all of the smoke and mirrors of the past 10 years was due to housing speculation. Why shut off the smoke machine now?

rankandfileParticipantI am not going to speculate whether setting the fires was a result of a RE conspiracy or not…that would be going against Occam’s Razor principle and is just a waste of my time.
What I do question is how multiple fires (as many as 5 or more) cropped up between the US/Mexican border and Los Olivos (by Solvang in Santa Barbara County) in a 24 hour time period. The Sedgewick Fire in Los Olivos started at 6am on 10/21, while the Harris Fire is purported to have started at 9:30am on 10/21. These two fires are no less than 242.71 miles apart!!! And all the fires in between started at around the same time. WHAT ARE THE ODDS OF THIS HAPPENING!!! All of my calculations were taken from the map on the LA Times website here and measured in Google Earth: http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-firemap,0,6179739.htmlpage?coll=la-home-center
The kibitzer will say that the conditions were ripe for a wildfire: hot weather, hot and dry Santa Ana winds, no rain. Intuition, however, rules out the possibility that ALL of these fires were spawned by natural causes at or around the same time and nearly 250 miles apart!!! What are all the ways in which fires can be started naturally, and what is the probability that ALL of these fires were created in such a manner? Did lightning possibly strike ALL of these areas within a 24 hour time period? I know, maybe a bunch of lightning bugs all farted at the same time!
I don’t know the answer, but my gut tells me that something smells awfully fishy here. This tragedy has the words “fire bug(s)” written all over it.

rankandfileParticipantWhat’s down is up and what’s up is down.
I am glad that I am not the only sane person out there who saw on TV homes that were on fire and yet nothing else around them was burning, and thought – hmmmm….I wonder how many of these were set on fire intentionally?!
The politically correct sheople of this forum will cry, “How dare you make such a statement! Families and women and children have suffered as a result of these fires!!!”
All it takes is for some pug with a hair across his a$$ to toss a match or cigarette out of his car, and the next thing you know we have mass hysteria.
Take off the PC glasses, grab a helping of reality with both hands, and shove it down your throat…and then ask for seconds. That is the only thing that will save you and your family.
