I will tell you why these people don’t pay their property taxes. Because they are sick of paying the tax only to have to still pay to enter state parks, paying to park down town, sending their children to sub-par schools, going to the public library and seeing thugs watching MTV on the computer screens, paying tolls on bridges and high ways, getting their car stolen and nothing done about it……….etc.

NeetaTParticipantThe bear got shot, because price psychology took him in. We are so used to seeing the hyper inflated $600,000.00 average on housing that we forget that the cost of housing is far from being reasonable. When we see a listing for under $500,000.00, we think it is reasonable when in actuality the price is almost as unreasonable as it was a year or so ago. The same can be said for the price of gasoline. We are used to $3.00 a gallon or more and when it dips to $2.95 we are ecstatic when we really shouldn’t be.

NeetaTParticipantPutting 10% into gold is a good idea. Just do it and don’t worry about it. Check the price every year after you plunge into the market, but don’t dwell on the everyday fluctuations.

NeetaTParticipantDon’t feel bad “cashman.” I’ve held a substantial amount in cash for the last 5 or so years while I watched in agony as real estate went up 200%, precious metals went up 500%, oil futures went up 600% etc. Now I feel as though everything has made it’s run. So now I continue to hold cash.

NeetaTParticipantJust go to a jewelry store and you will see jewelry selling at 80% below the list price, which brings it back to what it’s really worth. That’s my best analogy. I know, I’m not much help.
