ParticipantWatched part of the debate tonight. My conclusion, the republicans may have a brain surgeon as a presidential candidate, but the two most intelligent presidential candidates, by a big margin, are obviously from the democratic party.

ParticipantI think if your internet connection is truly 50 mbs then you shouldn’t have the degraded picture problem; unless you have other devices streaming at the same time. Try checking your internet speed at http://www.speedtest.net/. Another possible bottleneck is between your wifi and your streaming device.

Participant
itssd,
do you think the Roku is the best streaming device out there? Simple and easy to use?
I’m trying get my parents to cut to cord. It’s hard to get old people to change.
I have only used the Roku(2?), so I don’t know how it’s compared to other devices. Changing channels on the Roku does take a bit of getting used to. You don’t get that instance gratification of flipping the channels. Instead you’ll be pressing the buttons a few times just to get the navigation bar, browse the channels, and then select the channel. It’d be nice if you could “flip” the channels by using the up/down buttons on the remote.

Participant
ltsdd, did you ever try Sling TV? I am looking for a way to stream BeIN Sports with no cable subscription.
all,
I have been using it for a few months now with the cheapest plan of $20/month. That plan has most of the channels that I normally watch so it’s been working out fine. FYI, my internet download speed is about 65 mbs so it works flawlessly most of the time. But if you have other high-bandwidth apps running (i.e. multiple concurrent youtube streaming) then it will lag quite badly. All in all, I am quite happy with it. If nothing else I do save about $100/mo switching from cable tv.btw. – the trial period is 7 days if you do it via theie website, but if you do it via the Roku then it’s 14 days.

It looked like the selling in the morning was a bit of like capitulation. Smart money is probably screaming buy. Most likely large institution were picking bargains at the end of the day.

Participant
The microwave I had in the cabinet died on me. I went to Lowe’s and they told me they don’t do “custom installation”. Anyone here knows a good contractor that will do installation of countertop microwave with trim kit inside the cabinet? Thanks.
Is this a microwave or microwave/oven dual unit? FWIW, my “dead” microwave (it’s micro/oven dual unit) was to cost me at least $1500 to get a new one. After some research, I got a handyman to replace the magnetron for a few hundred bucks and it’s been as good as new.

Participantthat makes sense. For most people middle age is when you realized that your youth and the energy and optimism that come with it are gone. In their place are achy body and spirit, along with the stress and pressure of the daily grind. And to top it off, most realized whatever they have accomplished is probably of little significance. It’s probably no different than that stage 4 (depression) of the 5 stages of grief. Once they hit that “old” age, they probably realized there’s not much they can do with little time left and decided to just kick it (stage 5 – acceptance).

Participant

Anyone else here think that OIL is oversold? I am thinking of bottom-fishing get scoop up some shares.
What’s your timeframe?
Chinese demand has definitely fallen in the short run. In the long run, demand should bounce back at least somewhat.
Although it’s all but impossible for us to really know what the Saudi’s are thinking, there’s some speculation they are intentionally keeping production high and prices low to try to drive some competitors like oil sands out of business.
Long term there’s way more upside to OIL than downside. But there’s little reason to think prices are going to bounce back strong in the next six or twelve months.
I am mainly interested in the supper short-term (bounce). I wouldn’t call it day-trade but more like opportunistic trade. Get a bunch of shares and hope for it to go up for a few pennies and get out. Regardless of price movement, I would unload them in a week or two. I would have been happy had I bought this morning instead of posting on Pigg and missed that chance.
