I don’t know what they call that open space along the 56 but I sure like it. Whew! Every time I drive through that area I take a breathe. I just wish it would be zoned to stay that way. How many more houses and mini malls do we need in SD?
One thing I like about the Bay Area is that they seem to have so much more open spaces…Poway is also like that. I heard somewhere (probably here) that the city is very tight on building/builders. Only approx 4 building permits per year are given out.
I love San Diego…I just don’t want it to look like Orange County by the end of this decade.

gracieParticipantBoth areas are nice…….Seems like I hear of people moving out of 4S. One of my friends said that basically her entire street/neighborhood has sold their homes and have moved in the last year and a half.
Not sure why. It may be the fact that the new area attracted lots of investors at first.CV and Poway both have excellent schools.

Much prefer the new home.
I agree that sometimes it is hard to find a great new home in a terrific area…but we did.Although the older home was cheaper…we did not have an HOA, etc..
But…frankly I was sick of fixing things/remodeling in our older home…and I did not like that our neighbors had boats, cars, all over the street and the barking dogs! I love having an HOA!gracieParticipantI have had new homes and older homes.

He didn’t like the interest only, odd-ball, funny loans but I remember him telling me that everyone was asking for and getting them. He said that 80% of his loans in the newer 4S/Carmel Valley area were all interest only type loans. Needless to say, we got a regular 30 fixed.
