ParticipantWe are now five years off peak, and have finished the first dead cat bounce. I give it till 2016 or later depending on how bad things get in other areas of the economy. For better or worse, it looks likely that we will have a republican Senate, Congress and President in two years. It seems better when we have a deadlock situation.

ParticipantNothing in our way of life or society allows for disasters. We go about our lives assuming it will not happen and when it does …
Of course I suspect the biggest disaster waiting in the wings for the US is the Oregon area when the Cascadia Subduction fault gives resulting in a 100 foot tsunami. Last one happened in 1700. They happen every 300 years or so.

ParticipantI own a 2004 Toyota Camry (V6) with 140K miles. To be honest I drive it hard and have had problems with the Rack and Pinion steering – $2200 out of warranty. Apart from that it still runs and looks like a new car. I do intend to buy a new car next year (CASH!!)
Perhaps a 4Runner V8 from last year?GH
