ParticipantI think D.R. Horton owns or owned the land.

ParticipantLand use map says that low density housing in tract RS-1-14. Of course the average dummy like me can’t make heads or tails out of this info. Completely obtuse, non-transparent. Landowners not listed here?

ParticipantI heard on TV about a prison crew in red for just 2 seconds. No references anywhere else except a Reuters photo below. We need more willing guys. Could be at least 10,000 non violent prisoners in CA.

ParticipantCostco is not top tier gas member. Mostly marketing, but there is some testing. BTW, M5 fans don’t seem to use Costco. Only time I’m glad I’m not burdened by M5 ownership. I just use mobil 89 by the house, a little more than Costco but no long lines. 240K on one car and still going strong.
Will the Shell next to Costco lower prices??

Participantnjtosd,
That’s sounds like a good group. I saw following STEM talk for Nov 5, but successful career without actual STEM degree doesn’t seem that inspirational to young girls?

( BTW: that Mayor Bloomberg (a Democrat) supported it…. )
Bloomberg is not a Democrat.
And the way that stop and frisk has been used by the NYPD is absurdly unconstitutional. Walking while black does not qualify as probably cause. And that IS the way they’ve used it. And that is what the court ruled on. The court didn’t limit stop and frisk when probably cause exists.
You’re right. ok. my bad.
You know what, maybe you folks are right. I need to take a chill pill. This case really rubbed me the wrong way. I’m just pissed off about what happened to these people, because it could have very easily been me…
I’m sick of asians getting their ass kicked when it comes to social issues.
I don’t understand how people can possibly turn the table around and even begin to remotely connect that possibly Alex could be a victimizer.
My apologies.
Flu,Chill out, King Bloomberg is on the case. King Bloomberg has illegally run stop and frisk against the historical minorities(body cavity searches for minute arrests), illegally spied on Muslims in Jersey, all without any justifiable results. Jersey! Not even his state, without informing the mans in that state!
Only thing Sharpton has done is have Imus fired, but he was powerless against King Bloomberg. The police dept was hot to catch these bad guys, so I’m not sure where you see all the sympathy for the bikers. Probably just typical media looking for controversy, Nielsen, points.
As for the Gloria, she is, uh, just misguided to be kind. In best case scenario, what if these cops were working deep undercover, aka Wiseguy, and just had to play along to take down all gang? Regardless, the King will now have to settle with Gloria and likely indemnify Lien.

ParticipantCars from late 90’s, esp Japanese cars, are just amazing. I met a guy with a 90’s corolla with 400K miles that he bought used around 300K miles for a $1000 and its running.
Guess it no that uncommon for older cars. But I doubt newer cars esp untested CVT will be this trouble-free.

ParticipantWawanesa doesn’t takes any risks, so no way they would cover. Maybe Travelers. Try an insurance broker like http://www.mccormickinsure.com/insurance/
Haven’t used them but he has been in business for a long time.

ParticipantI know someone secondhand who choked on something from grocery store bought product with foreign object. I forget the gory details, but person is done fine now, but has a sports car over 35K for his troubles. I can try to get lawyer’s number.

Participant
We’re probably three or more years away from the final song of the Stockton bankruptcy.
As for inflation being a savior, that’s only true if the inflation occurs AFTER the incoming tsunami or retirees have already retired.
If it starts before, the necessary payments to CalPERS will skyrocket far faster than any revenue increases. And we all know that if inflation is 8%, the rest thing that will be removed in the next contract will be the cap on COLA.
I doubt pensions will be cut. If no cut then mini yields will jump for all and COLA will be cut.For current workers expect more furloughs, pay freezes.
BTW, police and fire unions have implicitly promoted idea that pension should start at 50 because life expectancy is low for safety workers with no proof. I heard that police retirees that number is closer to 80, longer than avg worker. Can anyone find
acturial data to confirm? On other side, urban legend states that half of safety workers retire on disability, making part of retirement tax free.April 6, 2013 at 12:21 PM in reply to: Tons of inventory in San Diego, none in Orange County #761059equalizer
ParticipantSince prices are going up, people looking to move to smaller place, out of town or sell second home will wait until prices appreciation slows down.
Seems like SD market was slow between 1990-1996, this time faster recovery?
Cause really out of good land, population increase? -
