the current owner is toast. if anyone takes it from him over 500, the new owner will also be toast. so on down the line until it floors around 200k.
i’m more interested in the previous owner who cashed out at a great time. where did they go? did they buy into CV and are now also being toasted? or…?
drunkleParticipantthe new century collapse is a great insight into how an entire organization becomes corrupted by management.
it should go without saying that people tend to conform. and that good people will do bad things under the right conditions; authority, disinterest, mob rule, etc, etc. without knowing how bad things have become, by assuming an organization is above reproach, you can forget your own caution; note how some people are adamantly trusting of the president. how anything bad that comes out about the government is simply derided as communist propoganda or bitter loserism. similarly, crotchety old bastards who think doctors are all shysters are labeled as crotchety old bastards and ignored.

drunkleParticipantjg, this thread is about the movie. all the idiotic non sequitors about cost or socialization or whatever have been red herrings, defamation and just plain bullshit.
it’s amazing to realize that even intelligent people fail to recognize bullshit when they see it. i work with people in public ed and there are some absolute morons there. but they’re paid on moron scale. i see corporate failures in the news every day. and they’re paid in blood. open your fucking eyes. there’s more to the story than what rush limbaugh or ann coulter feed you.
edit:
unless of course, you’re just facetious. that you know what’s what, you’re towing the line for personal gain.drunkleParticipantjg, this thread is about the movie. all the idiotic non sequitors about cost or socialization or whatever have been red herrings, defamation and just plain bullshit.

it’s easy to come to generalizations. in general. yours about republicans and democrats is easy enough because since the late 90’s, being republican was fashionable, nobody admits their mistakes and democrats havent either chance nor desire to do anything to make themselves noticed.
and no, you’re not copping out, you’re not straddling a fence. the two party system is a fallacy; america is not confined to democrats and republicans. the openness, the competition that “capitalists” so engender does exist in american politics as well. it’s just that the media monopolies need to be broken down to break the two party spell. the internet is doing that.

drunkleParticipantit’s community moderated, supposedly. but someone has put up a blog/website detailing his systemic deletion from craigs… cant remember specifics, think he was posting stuff about the eminent downturn.

drunkleParticipantyeah… and the 12th commandment being of course: “Thou shalt be correct, ye who hath the last word.”
Bob explains this in the Book of Bob, chapter 1, verse 69: Lo, the Lord sayeth unto Ralph, “Eateth thine vegetables. Good is mine creation of tomatoes and celery and lettuce and thou must eateth of these, my creations!” And Ralph replied, “Gotta go, Lord, I’m late for school!” from whence he ran from the house, out the door and down the street to where the Lord could only respond, “Drat.”

drunkleParticipantyou haven’t made any point… what, do you go to the school of pre hoc argument?
the posted link starts off with a logical fallacy. period. it’s trying to claim that the presented arguments are fact and truth because it’s sources are factual and truthful. and that’s wrong. it’s not a “relativism trap”, it’s pointing out that the author is using slight of hand when making his case: scientists never lie. scientists say that global warming is occuring. therefore, global warming must be true. see what happened there? it is not a fact that scientists never lie. it is not a fact that his sources are objective and unbiased.

drunkleParticipantrepublican’s began embracing the christian coalition some years back. it’s an unfortunate coincidence that christians, by virtue of their belief in fantasy rather than fact, ignore the realities, ignore the future, ignore common sense in favor of grand schemes, big prizes and pretty pictures.
they’ve done a terrific de beers’ing of america by associating christianity, consumption, egotism and nationalism as americana. “how dare you suggest that america had anything to do with vietnam?! you’re unamerican!” “how dare you suggest that real estate won’t go up forever?! you’re unamerican!” “how dare you suggest that money is not our god?! you’re unamerican!”
