CoronitaParticipantAint gonna happen…
CoronitaParticipantSomewhere buried in this news is the fact that he killed 3 asian kids because they “were too nerdy”…with a knife….
Kid was messed up….Was gonna find a way for maximum destruction…..knife, gun, car, or whatever else was available…..
Mental illness isn’t exactly the easiest thing to identify….Some people can I guess just “snap”….
CoronitaParticipantOk, as an added bonus question.. What is everyone’s current 401k allocation (and 401k, assuming subjected to the limits of your company’s/employer’s constraints)….
I’m doing about
20% large cap,
15% mid cap,
15% small cap,
10% bonds,
20% international emerging markets,
20% cash/loan to myself…And as an second bonus question. Do you plan on rebalancing in the near future, and if so, what do you think will be doing and when? And also, are you really going to rebalance equally, or are you going to nudge things slightly one way or the other toward an class of investments?
CoronitaParticipantThanks folks for the feedback..Yeah, I was just curious…
The other accounts (529, rollover IRAs, individual self directed accounts) seemed to perform better this year. For whatever reason, my fidelity 401k seemed like it was just sucking wind.
Looks like everyone’s 401k is approximately equally sucking wind, so I feel better more or less, though my seem to be sucking slightly more than others.lol….

CoronitaParticipantWar of have versus have not’s continues…..
CoronitaParticipantI love the CNN headlines.
[img_assist|nid=18093|title=CNN…Con news network…|desc=|link=node|align=left|width=400]
Aside from the fact that today is memorial day, and we should be honoring our fallen soldiers as page 1 on news IMHO. I love how CNN decides to say
“Roommates and a ‘really great kid'”….
I guess the roommates weren’t “really great kids” too….
CNN is a cesspool these days….. Grabbie grabbie headliners for ratings…. That’s about it…
BBC/NPR both are way better….
CoronitaParticipantHappy Memorial Day everyone, in honor of our veterans that served and sacrificed for our country, past , present ,and the future….
(If I didn’t remember, I wouldn’t know about it from CNN’s top story….I don’t expect anything more though, from CNN…. 🙁 )
CoronitaParticipantFidelity stinks… That is all 🙁
May 24, 2014 at 8:17 AM in reply to: Never Ever Take a Car With Rims You Care About to Costco Tires #774253
CoronitaParticipantUpdate….
So Costco never got back to me on the damage claim…The onsite manager told me that if I wanted to go get a detailer and see if it polishes out and send him the bill….
I figured it wasn’t worth the hassle…
Meanwhile, I did find a good installer in Clairemont…
C2 Motorsports. Got new rims and tires for the auto-x car and C2 Motorsports does great job.. Awesome guys…
https://www.theracersstore.com/
Costco automotive.. I’m done…
CoronitaParticipantI’ve decided to boycott costco for anything automotive related….. After them doing a number on my last set of wheels at the tire center.
CoronitaParticipantHow much is he… err scratch that….. How much are you willing to pay for rent?
🙂
CoronitaParticipant
flu most of that has to do with scale, but yea I remember paying 3K for a Slow POS PC with one 40Meg hard drive back in the day (but is was made in America LOL).
The lower end of the wage scale has really lagged behind and suffered the last 20 or so years, so there needs to be some leveling IMO.
They are not going to manufacture I-Pads here anytime soon regardless.
You give a low wage earner a little more money he will spend it, you give the CEO a few million more bucks he will put it in a tax shelter somewhere.
(or maybe buy a NY condo).
I think some things have to be done for wages on the low end.. But just pointing out that eventually, everything will most likely shift to fewer people working, even when wages do go up….
Looks what is happening right now in grocery stores. You have 1 cashier managing 4-5 self-service checkouts….
Keep moving up or get outdated by technology….
CoronitaParticipantI think I must be insane to work in the tech industry…
I think the tech industry is probably the only industry in which a computer or mobile phone is 50x more powerful than something that existed 10 years ago, but costs 1/3 the price of that item 10 years ago, even in non-inflation adjusted dollars…
That cost squeeze gotta come from somewhere…. I guess it usually comes out of axing jobs in high cost areas….
I guess I’m pretty lucky so far (knock on wood) because I’m considered a high performer to justify my cost….
HP just announced 10k-16k layoffs btw…
I do not envy folks who are trying to start a small biz right now….It must be a tough environment out there…
CoronitaParticipantLooks like the Bernardo fire was started by construction…
