Cranked on first tryMo gambling money!
CoronitaParticipantare you really seeing a therapist? What for?
CoronitaParticipantMoney can’t make you happiest..
….but it sure can come pretty darn close…..
CoronitaParticipantMerck and Pfizer are on fire today. Up 10k today, lol…
And lol, PG&E is at 12.31…
Think maybe selling some and moving into homebuilders. lol
CoronitaParticipantWell, dz, I guess if you start 4 threads on this blog, it’s very difficult at any instance of time to be consistently wrong on all 4 threads at the same time… It happens, but usually, on a single day, you might temporarily be correct on 1 of 4 threads… emphasis, temporary….
CoronitaParticipantNot that one small employer like Amazon would be representative for every other more important employer (sarcasm)…
….But it appears Amazon is still hiring remote workers… Just got pinged….

CoronitaParticipantMy dividend plays have not been great. It’s not bad, but just not great.
Energy dividends were better than others, but that’s about it.
Need to do more research.
Also need to work on my plastic welding skills. Spent all night and wee morning hours practicing and trying to do it right, but still isn’t great…
[img_assist|nid=27595|title=|desc=|link=node|align=left|width=2000]
The cheap replica covers I found from Amazon were made in china and pretty flimsy. I’m returning them. For $66 for all 3, it was priced too good to be true and not something I would want to count on for weatherproofing stuff in the engine bay.

CoronitaParticipant

I am buying Cal muni bond funds that yield about 5% tax free.
Not risk free but pretty low risk IMO.
They aren’t going to default, but further large rate increases would hurt them.
As an inflation hedge?
The YTD of one of my CA muni bonds index is pretty much as bad as the S&P 500 this year. And over the past 5 year it’s negative and way worse than the S&P500. One would have been better off just staying in cash.
[img_assist|nid=27590|title=vcaix|desc=|link=node|align=left|width=500]
[img_assist|nid=27592|title=sp500|desc=|link=node|align=left|width=500]
It’s even worse if you compare the 5 year
[img_assist|nid=27593|title=vcaix 5 year|desc=|link=node|align=left|width=1000]
At least S&P500 had a really good 5 year
[img_assist|nid=27594|title=sp500 5year|desc=|link=node|align=left|width=1000]
Yes, the dividend is federal and state tax exempt but YTD was atrocious overall for the past 5 years…

I’ve had all those for a very long time. My serious money. Generates great dividend income and steady growth
Dividend play was getting hard to do, personally.
I bought Sempra Energy and Edison, 2 years back when energy prices were lower. Just a tiny position of a few hundred shares. The dividend were slightly over 3% for Sempra and 4% for Edison, when Sempra was $122/sh and Edison was around $60/share.
I figure instead of getting mad at SDGE and SoCal Edison raise rates of electricity and natural gas, I’d just camp out in their dividend, and if they raised rates for their bottom line, good for them and good for me, heh heh.
Both too expensive to buy now. Sempra dividend is under 3% now, and Edison is under 4% now. Both are close to an all time high. Probably should take some money off the table in those and find something with better dividends.

Hey, unrelated I finished my valve cover replacement on my N55 motor and finished plastic welding some broken panels just now in my garage that I don’t want to replace for several hundred $$$. Saved over $1300, now extra gambling money 🙂
What a royal pain in the azz… Got to remove all sorts of shit just to take off the cover. And that point, you might as well replace the valve cover along with the gasket, since the valve covers are now made out of plastic that get brittle over time. Stupid BMW’s. Thank you, work at home flexible schedules.
Before
[img_assist|nid=27587|title=|desc=|link=node|align=left|width=1000]Middle
[img_assist|nid=27588|title=|desc=|link=node|align=left|width=1000][img_assist|nid=27586|title=|desc=|link=node|align=left|width=1000]
End
[img_assist|nid=27589|title=end|desc=|link=node|align=left|width=1000]… so much plastic stuff shit….I managed to only break 2 things, one which was a maintenance item that needed to be replaced anyway $20, and the plastic engine covers that were pre-broken by the stealership who never told me…..Total walking on eggshells…but, yes it is possible so service a BMW at home with a little patience. I hope those 6 metal fuel lines that run over the cover don’t leak, lol.
8 hours over a few days and counting, and almost done… I guess that’s why Indy shops want $1300, excluding parts cost of course, which is another $600 for the valve cover lol,
https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-valve-cover-kit-11127570292kt1
….So, about the extra $1300 gambling money….
PTON call option or NAIL call option? 🙂Going to bed. The fumes from the plastic welder is getting to me in my garage… lol

Wait CA muni bonds underperformed.fornthe past 2-3 years ,no?
CoronitaParticipant

Okay so in other words your portfolio is very much in the red today.
Even without NAIL.
Weren’t you the one that say if I didn’t sell my NFLX call, then it doesn’t matter how much I gain?
Alternative facts.
Clearly if you are up and haven’t sold, it doesn’t matter.
But apparently if you are down one day, despite holding MSFT for years (decades?), it is significant.
Lol.
CoronitaParticipant

Well the only way your portfolio is Green today is if you are shorting the market.
Uhhh…… No!
LLY + 4.56% (largest holding in my portfolio)
RPM + 4.86% (another large holding)
MRK + 1.49% (another large holding)
JNJ + 2.60% (another large holding)
ABBV +3.35% (4th largest holding in my portfolio)
Pfizer and Merck have been in my long term account for a few years.
[img_assist|nid=27584|title=cs|desc=|link=node|align=left|width=1000]
I missed out out ABBV and Moderna. I think I had moderna when it was in the 20ies and sold in the 50ies… Oops. Thank god I don’t own anything Russian-ish. That warning banner i get every day says it all
CoronitaParticipantI saw my portfolio turn green after being red most of the day. And I came here to see if there’s a new post…
Holy shit… Thanks DZ. Keeping posting!!!![img_assist|nid=27583|title=|desc=|link=node|align=left|width=500]
All in good fun, of course ! 🙂
CoronitaParticipant.
