I’ll sign up if it’s a go…
if I had $1 million to blow, I’d be hitching a ride on a Soviet rocket right now.
Waiting for Jeff Bexo to offer something similar between $200-300k on Amazon Prime… lol.

CoronitaParticipant
Hopefully fail. Techbro VC scum shouldn’t be competing with mom and pop investors.
Here’s a way to harsh their game, BTW … figure out which homes are owned by Zillow. Anonymously report the work being done to code enforcement — chances are, with a 90-day flipping window, they’re hiring unlicensed subs and not pulling proper permits. Good luck to them handling code issues in a timely manner if they don’t have anyone local…
lol.. quite the opposite imho.
You see, the one most likely to use unlicensed contractors are people individuals like you to save money.
Zillow will probably use licensed contractors and do it by the book, burning through equity and vc money to do it Just so they can report “substantial customer growth” even as they bleed though ewuity and VC money.
They won’t be cutting corners on the flip… They’ll just burn through money to do it in order to acquire a bigger customer base… This is the way VCs run these growth vertical business and there are plenty examples of this sort of bzioness models.

and from recent time
Moviepass…
CoronitaParticipantfunny I was just talking about them with another pigg. I was partly tempted to start shorting Zillow.
They are going to enter the mortgage business and start buying and selling homes….in this current real estate market…I think they will fail miserably…
CoronitaParticipant
I would rather pay this $20-$25 fee than go have my 4 year old vehicle smogged for $60-$80 and waste my time as well as the time of the technician at the smog station. Is there a choice? Or is this a yearly fee where it ends up costing the same either way? Smogging my 2015 VW Passat is on my agenda today, fees due to DMV $370.
There are some zip codes that do not have a biannual smog check. The implications of having a po box in those zip codes are left as an exercise for the reader.
CoronitaParticipantThere’s a big difference between adding more rules and I dare say some regulation to making mandatory things more accesible, such as medical…
And then there are things like “free this” make the “rich” pay more…The problem with the socialist nutjobs from the democrat party, is that they speak of lofty “free everything” as if it’s an unlimited check.
I can spend a lot too and be very generous when it’s someone else’s money.
A lot of you folks paying more taxes this year due to SALT caps are generously contributing to a lot of folks in middle america who aren’t as lucky as you to earn so much in blue states…It’s for a good cause.
CoronitaParticipant

I think it’s funny that the Democrat candidates running for president these days are all nuts. But it’s all entertaining to me. Warren, Harris, Bernie….Anyone not a Socialist from the Democrat party running in 2020? Lol.
I could go for pragmatism.
yes.. but I have a feeling pragmatism is going to get drowned out. I hope not… I think the democrats leaders have fallen off the rocker….look at who is the most vocal. Who is front page on CNN… Warren, Bernie, Harris, AOC.

CoronitaParticipant
No flu,
I am just tired of being fleeced. I have to get back to “Fox News” now.
Then move. Or work…. Not so much you need the money because you are retired. Because you have so much free time, you get wrapped up in getting pissed off over the smallest thing, like a grumpy old fart.
CoronitaParticipant
Flu, I love you too. I have to get a liver ultrasound every 6 months. People don’t realize that it is health insurance that makes healthcare so expensive. If there was no such thing as health insurance the cost of healthcare would adjust to supply and demand along with average household income. If you add up all the premiums paid over the years plus how that money would have grown, you would indeed have more than enough money to pay medical expenses and then some, because the cost of healthcare would be much lower. Insurance creates inflation, because there is a big pot of money to draw from.
Well that’s interesting. That’s not what my experience seems to suggest…
You see if I go get my MRI every 6months, and supposedly if I didn’t have insurance, the hospital+doctors end up billing me the full retail price. $30k… However, the moment PPO is involved, that price drops from $30k to $3k.
A lot of people say, well you can negotiate with the hospital/doctor to get a lower rate if you didn’t have insurance. Really? This isn’t buying a Porsche in which you have the option to simply not buy and have the time and energy to comparison shop. If you are in immediate need of medical treatment/diagnosis, is it really practical to go “shopping at different hospitals” for the lowest cost option? And even if you could, sometimes if you have a specialized condition, there are not “options”. People who think this is entirely possible are completely out of touch with reality.
So, our medical system is messed up. Insurance isn’t the only reason why medical care is expensive. It’s messed up in different ways.
Anyway, kinda pointless to be all pissed off about a DMV smog abatement fee when you’re on the hook for $$$$ in medical expenses too. Picking the wrong fight imho.
CoronitaParticipant
We never even came close to a drought. A drought is used as an excuse to raise the price of water and add new taxes.
Someone sure is in a bad mood…
CoronitaParticipantDude, you say you are retired. And a few years ago, bragging about your Porsche 911. And now, you’re and pissie over a smog abatement fee. That’s less than probably you spending wining and dining each night.
I don’t understand as people get more wealthy, the more stingy people get…
Sheet, if we are in the bitch and moan mood, I surely didn’t appreciate getting handed to me a lifeline medical condition that I need to always get a colonscopy and MRI each year, and that costs me probably $2000/year extra insured, $30k extra uninsured…. I guess I should expect that to be free too.
CoronitaParticipant
…..and douche bag of the year goes to J. B. Pritzker. You are delusional if you think CA has not already thought about this.
Sure, but it hasn’t happened (yet). Just the same way that Prop 13, people keep trying to repeal that, but won’t happen… Simply because #landowners > #renters
NeetaT, what I don’t understand is if you are retired as you previously said, why do you even report your residence here? That makes no sense.
CoronitaParticipant
The sign-up bonus of $70 is weak. Chase has multiple cards more than $500 in bonuses. The best was one with $1100 of Southwest flights. And I actually used them all pretty quickly.
The 5% is pretty good but other cards are 2% everywhere.
The extra 3% is worth $150 a year if you spend $5000 a year on Amazon.
Yes, I already got those chase bonuses. So I’m not eligible again….
The Aerospace credit union credit card sounded too good to be true, so I called. Those rebates are only good for the first year… I knew it. If they really were 5% cash back for gas purchases, I would ditch my costco visa.
My amazon purchases totaled slightly less than $30,000 in 2018, lol. Lots of business related purchases, property improvement stuff, school stuff, robotics for educational stuff, donation stuff, automotive stuff. I’m getting about $950 cash back on my costco visa, at roughtly 1.5% rebate. That comes out to about $63,333.33 charged to my costco visa in 2018, and no I didn’t charge the cost of my new miata completely to it. That was in 2017 and dealer only allowed me to charge the $3000-4000 deposit..
I’m waiting for a credit card to offer an introductory 1 year 3% rebate on “everything”…. That will be the year all charge all my property tax bills in San Diego County…. lol. SD County property tax convenience charge is 2.2%
CoronitaParticipantLol.. Harris. The gift that keeps on giving…
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/voters-are-souring-on-medicare-for-all-180225270.htmlHarris, Warren, AOC….
Quickly redefining the Democrat Party to mean… The Freebie Party…. lol…
Playing right into Trump’s hand, with the party stereotype that is one of the reasons why he won.
