CoronitaParticipantGo visit HCabinet in Scripps Ranch or Miramar to see for yourself.
CoronitaParticipantlooks like AMD just punked Nvidia…..
lol. consumers win.
CoronitaParticipantYou inspired me to be more green. After I finish with helping with a bunch of housing tasks, I figured out the next project I want to do to my old Miata that rarely gets driveN now….
Electric Miata.
The conversions is only $20k
9.25 sec 1/4mile runs is just insane…
autocross vehicle might be good too
I don’t think I can add more power using ICB engines except a V8 which would cost more.
CoronitaParticipantstocks on the rise again. indexes all up. gold up.. s&p all time high.
more case for indexing…

The Medicare for all thing never gets fully explained, private insurance already subsidizes medicare and medical. Without it, Medicare and medical cannot get the rates they have. For every 100 dollars of medical services, private insurance pays $115, medicare pays $85 and medical pays $50. Providers require more private insurance payers to cover the losses of medicare (old people) and medical (poor people, illegal aliens). Put everyone on medicare and hospitals and clinics either fold or need to charge more, thus eliminating the benefit. A bifurcated system is common in other countries but the one democrat who tells it at events get booed. Why do hospitals in poorer areas struggle financially, it has too many discount patients, you need 3-1 insurance to medical to break even and 1-1 medicare to insured to break even. Since medicare patients need more expensive treatment, it’s actually much higher.
As the saying goes “think it’s expensive now, wait till it’s free.” Same goes for college, free college will cost more than it does today, which ties back to Real Estate, the great recession was caused in part by free credit which ran up prices. Limited commodities are like that, if everyone can have them for free, more will want them and the prices will be driven up (not down) because the ability to deliver them will not be increased and may be decreased if the incentive to deliver them is removed.[/quote]
Damn… That was well put…
CoronitaParticipantThe motherboard is an MSI x470 Gaming Plus, and has both a one slot that is an M.2 and one slot that is a M.2/SATA hybrid that can accept either one….
The Intel 660p is a M.2 SSD, with supposedly good transfer speed and is at a cheap price around (I think newegg has them for $88 now) …They are good, if it works. Apparently, the reviews from others were less than stellar about reliability. Some ran into the same problem I had. Some had the SSD fail after a few weeks/month of use… I decided to send it back and got a different brand: ADATA XPG, with 3500MB/s and it worked right off the bat. I couldn’t even see the intel SSD in the BIOS setup.
MSI has a pretty good compatibility matrix on their support site. I was able to get a decently priced 16gb DDR4 to run at 3200 with very little effort.
I haven’t tried to overclock things massively yet. I don’t think there is much headroom for overclocking the 2700x, especially using the stock cooler.. And I don’t want to spend the money on more expensive cooling, which would defeat the purpose of having a low cost system… Slightly over half of the cost was in the cpu and motherboard… The rest of the cost was on storage/gpu/powersupply/case/memory…If I have to ditch those for the new x570 board and a 3700x or 3950x, the waste is about $360 (I got the x470 board at a steal price).. everything else should transfer over…When pcie4 drives are available at a cheaper cost, that certainly would be tempting to add another drive.
CoronitaParticipantI’ve never been able to get my covered calls correct.
anyway…I can understand why Intel might have a problem.
Intel NOT insideAll AMD system…2700x with X470 board, RX590 8gb video, 32gb ram at 3200ghz, and 1TB SSD ….for $700…
It would have been cheaper too if $88 intel 660p SSD worked too… But for some reason the MSI board couldn’t see it and there was a lot of complaints about its reliability….So I had to go with a more expensive no name $110 SSD… oh well…
it’s a pretty decent system for compiling Android OS from scratch. The only problem is it’s about to be outdated next week with the 3700 and 3950x and x570 with pci 4 support. oh well. I think I could use the 16 cores in the 3950. Need my IT guy to build another 2 for development work.
Consumers win big-time.. Because consumers actually have decent alternatives now aside from the Intel and Nvdia monopoly.
CoronitaParticipantI forgot to mention that if you aren’t looking for showroom finish…you can also try a mobile guy I use to use. He specializes in bumper repair, but also does resprays of body panels. I had him respray a few body panels that we’re peeling clear coat.
It’s roughly $200-300 per panel or half a bumper. Warning: the clear coat texture won’t match and it comes out feeling like an orange peel. it you can also wet sand it and get a nice smooth finish. maybe cheaper if you go to his shop instead of him coming to your house.
I haven’t used him for some time though…I do most of my own body work now on my beater since I wreck the paint racing it , I figure I don’t need the best paint job… Just need to respray every do often…PM if you want his contract.
You can also get pretty decent results with the $60 Wagner hvlp sprayer as long as the paint isn’t metallic. I’ve done that before the using a real spray gun and compressor. and you can get color matched base coat and clear coat at Napa Autoparts in Encinitas and Clairemont or any other Napa store that has a paint dept.
CoronitaParticipantPretty reasonable price: http://abxcollision.com/
One of the best body shops, and they work on all brands (unlike some snooty places)
CoronitaParticipantstock market up on g20 news. chip sector up…. Doomsayers thinking the end of the world is near… wrong…again….
CoronitaParticipantI think I am channeling Donald Trump and changed my mind again. I think aren’t a racist outright, but a closet racist. You have a sickening fetish for anything Asian as if it’s an object….
