Weren’t you the one saying you were poor and didn’t want to get involved in skiing a couple of days ago? Just kidding and giving you crap….I have a Panasonic 42″ plasma in our bedroom and I have to say, I’ve been pretty happy with it. I was initially concerned about “burn in”, but I don’t seem to have this problem. I have a 720dp tv, but it’s for the bedroom. I’m not a big AV buff, so i think it’s pretty goo for a side tv. In hindsight, i would probably go 1080… Still, hooking this up to my tv, looks pretty nice

If i were to do it over, I would have gone with Panasonic’s professional plasma line (without the built in tuner and speakers), because it was slightly a nicer plasma for the same money and considering I have a seperate tuner and AV equipment for the sound anyway.
Are you really renting blu-rays now? I haven’t bothered.

Oh no I am not renting Blu-Rays at all. That’s why I was not too concerned about 1080P. I don’t watch a lot of movies at all. Sports, and some shows.

ParticipantTV went out… 36 inch old timer tube not even a flat screen. Time to upgrade. Good choices I saw at Costco on open models.
$799 – Panasonic Viera 50 Plasma 720P
$799 – Panasonic Viera 46 Plasma 1080PMan I can’t decide, I like the idea of Plasma for sports, the 720 seems good enough but then again 50 inch screen kind of overtakes my living room. I don’t really watch that many movies as I am just too scatterbrained and distracted with my laptop to put it away for two hours to watch a film. Obviously Blue-Ray is better with the 46. Broadcast and sports are fine on the 50/720P too.

ParticipantThanks for all the tips. We did end up buying some size 13 boots for my 8th grader (sheesh I am only a 12) over at Play-it-Again. As an aside does it seem like kids have bigger feet?
Other stuff we’ll rent over at Hansen’s. I think my older son who is 14 accustomed to riding a wave board, wants to Snowboard while the little one wants to stick to tubing. He’s just looking forward to getting back into the snow since it’s been a few years since they rode sleds. I think my wife is doing Mt. High on Wed. Hopefully no broken bones as both kids are key members of my baseball teams.
