Participant[quote=CricketOnTheHearth]North Park Hardware on University near 30th makes an effort to stock USA-made products. A year or so ago I got a hammer there that weighs 3 or 4 oz more than all the other Chinese-y hammers but is so well-balanced that it feels *lighter* than them.

Do you think an American product like this needs someone to tell the story? Meaning, for me at least I don’t swing a hammer every day. So I’d probably get whatever crap is down at the wal-mart or target and not think twice. However if someone put the American Hammer in my hands and explained the balance and quality I’d probably go ahead and buy it. However there isn’t always someone to tell the story.

ParticipantI’m at 2250 for around 1900 Sq. foot “condo” in San Pacifico. It’s not attached but the driveways are which is why it’s a condo. I am pretty sure when doing some google searches I saw it initially asking for $2450. I actually wrote the wrong price on the app form and they just accepted it without asking about it. Makes me wish I’d accidentally put down another $100 off (asking was $2295).
This is not quite SFH but close. Way more convenient for me than La Costa area though (for commute reasons)

ParticipantYea I miss not having BBQ around here like we did in Texas. I lived in Houston 4-5 days a week for about a year when consulting. 10 months in Clear Lake and 2 months over by the Astrodome and some hospitals (not sure what nabe that was).
Anyway I was in San Antonio on biz back in April. Our software vendor through a big bash each night and there were iced cold Shiner Bocks as far as the eye can see. And of course free… I bought a whole bunch when I got back as I forgot I really liked that stuff. My bud who’s always trying to bring over Stella Artois, when I won a bet I made him pay up in Shiner Bock.
I was back in Cleveland last christmas and had Great Lakes Christmas Ale. Holy crap was that stuff good. About 11.00 or so for a 6-pack though. There I go changing the subject again.
Of course I don’t mind having 1-2 of those Michelob Ultra when I trying to keep the calories low. Allen would vomit at the mere whiff of that piss-water.
