4spotentialbuyer,
I do not have the upgrade price sheet, unfortunately. I do have the pricing info based on what we have added as upgrades.
I agree with you, John’s comments was extremely sexist. I am also the one that is more skeptical about purchasing a home in the current market. My husband, on the other hand, does not want to be bothered by my constant worries and questions about the market. I also generate decent income for our family.
Good luck w/everything!

buyorholdParticipantI know that many here will not agree with me… but we are also looking to purchase a new home, in 4S to be exact, for reasons very similar to yours. We fully know that prices will probably drop more…but we really do not want to stay in our tiny condo any longer. We want a decent backyard for our child to play in, decent school districts, nice parks…etc. And I know many here will tell me I’m crazy… but I really do believe that if I plan to stay in that house for a decade or two, we should be ok…
I do agree that it is a buyer’s market out there, make sure you do plenty of looking around and negotiate like crazy.
Best of luck to you!

buyorholdParticipantI went by the Pienza office this afternoon and found out that 5 out of 7 of the lots they released yesterday are SOLD??? How can that be? Sold in ONE day??? I thought the market is supposed to be slowing down? I am looking forward to falling prices! Who are these people buying?
It is also interesting that all the lots left for sale are the 2901 floor plans…
Lot 801 (Plan 2) – $786,990 (Sold)
Lot 802 (Plan 1) – $767,490
Lot 803 (Plan 3) – $799,990 (Sold)
Lot 839 (Plan 3) – $753,990 (Sold)
Lot 859 (Plan 1) – $718,990
Lot 838 (Plan 2) – $747,490 (Sold)
Lot 859 (Plan 3) – $752,990 (Sold)buyorholdParticipantI went by the Pienza office this afternoon and found out that 5 out of 7 of the lots they released yesterday are SOLD??? How can that be? I know that a lot of you think it is an unwise decision to buy right now, and I do see your point. I think that I will watch the market very closely over summer and see how things go. There is a contingency clause in our contract that if we cannot sell our current home by the close of escrow, I can still back out of the deal and get my deposit back…
Thanks again everyone!

Thank you for the opinion. I think you may be right. I have talked to several more friends at work, and they advised me to considering renting a bigger home for several years rather than buying right now.
thanks again.
