Can’t speak to the highly paid folks and would not begrudge the firefighters or police for the money they earn.
But the average city worker? I had a work associate who wanted to place a bet about road repair crews. Any time more people were working than standing around watching, he would pay me a buck; more watching than working I would pay him a buck. Let’s just say I was glad the bet was only a buck or I might have needed bail out money. Take the bet next time you are out and about.

beachloverParticipantAh, you made my point. The Japanese did not honor the geneva convention in WWII and tortured our troops. These were despicable acts.
Fast forward and W has ignored the geneva convention and tortured — not troops, not uniformed personnel — just people who we “think” are terrorists, with no proven ties to the 9/11 tragedies. We’ve tortured these people, held them without rights, representation or due process. Waterboarding and the other tortures performed on these folks can in no way compare to Catholic schooling – please don’t minimize the acts with this type of comparison.
Sorry, these acts are NOT the same as a president who didn’t keep his zipper up and lied about it. Jeepers.

beachloverParticipantPiggs,
Would be interested to hear your defense of W’s administration policy to go against the Geneva convention and his imprisonment of folks without due process. You might want to read the senate’s findings…http://levin.senate.gov/newsroom/release.cfm?id=305735
I don’t think it’s about party. It’s about what is right and what is wrong. I really don’t know how you can support W’s policies in these matters. I don’t care if a few of these folks were terrorists — we’re Americans and we don’t torture people or imprison and keep them without due process because W and his appointee’s decided we could. Five, ten, 20 years from now this will stain this administration history.
