Participant
I like Pacific Sales, and never had issues with them…
Costco…Well, they don’t usually have top of the line..So I wouldn’t go there…
For slightly less than top of the line….normal stuff, I’d say Sears is pretty good too.
Lastly, you could go to Fry’s for the $199 special 🙂 (just kidding about Fry’s)
Funny 🙂
I got my washer and dryer at Fry’s, Sears had the same model, would not match the price.May 8, 2012 at 8:35 PM in reply to: More public pension loony tunes – now Providence RI is in trouble #743319all
ParticipantAirplane pilots and flight engineers likely receive more training than cops, yet the death rate is much higher. And their unions are fairly strong.
It was BG, not EconProf who invoked job safety. Right or wrong, cops&firefighters are sucking on the same tit that’s feeding the banksters. And unlike banksters they are instrument of oppression in the hand of the ruling class (i.e. banksters).

You have the “freedom” to change your username any time you want.
Are you calling for government regulation?
It’s called freedom man, FREEDOM!
No way they had the same weeks and month I did. It was an inside job.
Maybe you are me… I have those episodes where I wake up in weird places, no idea how or when I got there. Please try to be nicer to me.

Buh humbug… one time people talk about me and it has to happen on weekend.
“I don’t work weekends” ∧ “I won’t spend time on piggington unless I’m getting paid for that time” => “I don’t check in on weekends”.May 4, 2012 at 2:29 PM in reply to: Ron Paul Wins Alaska and Washington State + Several State GOP Chairman Positions #742956all

Absolutely not true. The Constitution could be amended at any time. The problem is there is no exit plan once they get into a business. I don’t care how it was written into the law there is a way to legally change it.Is it okay for tax payer to lose billions because it was written into law 200+ years ago? No…this is the problem with Ron Paul detractors, they disregard common sense and the rule of law.
MM33, it sounds like you believe that we should be pragmatists and evaluate the purposes and consequences of laws, and change them if necessary. Am I correct?
Yes, as long as *we* does not include *you*.

Also, regarding getting a water filter. I’m still using bottled water, but considering switching to filtered water. However, I have heard that a lot of the filtered water system use anywhere from 1:1 to 1:4 ratio..That is, to have 1 gallon of filtered water, it takes 1-4 gallons to run through the system. True or false? If true, does the water just get sent out through the drain?
If you use Brita pitcher there will be no loss. If your refrigerator has the filter option you should be getting close to 0% loss. No idea how whole house filtration system works.

Seriously though, are the functions of agencies like the FDA/USDA/FAA/NTSB etc. really going be better served by a yet-untested private solution?(Question is for sduude, not mm)
People evolved from protozoa to where they were few decades ago without FDA. If anything FDA slows down the evolution by making it possible for the weak to linger.
ParticipantLaugh all you want. Dr. P and Mr. R are the last two men standing, so there is a 50% chance Dr. P will be the GOP nominee. Then he’ll go head to head with Dr. O where he has 50% chance of winning (two candidates, each clearly with 50% chance). So, there is 25% chance for competing currency by Spring 2013. My printing press is ready and I’ll be buying left and right paying with my freshly printed Zyngers.

Participant$2MM is a lot of money. You have to generate $4K/month for 40 years (you ‘generate’ by either producing or having others produce and then redistribute some of their production to you).

I’ll take your word for it that blueprints are destroyed after 90 days.
That’s what I was told by a Department of Planning and Land Use representative last week after I called to verify what an architect told me.
The county records show that my 2001 house passed few inspections and that’s it. The plans are destroyed 90 days upon completion due to the lack of storage space. That is the current, not just 2012 practice.

(does the city do that too?)
The same architect said the City of San Diego and the City of Vista (might have been San Marcos) have all the records going back few decades on microfilm. Other cities are hit or miss.
