ParticipantI like Pacific Sales, and never had issues with them…
Costco…Well, they don’t usually have top of the line..So I wouldn’t go there…
For slightly less than top of the line….normal stuff, I’d say Sears is pretty good too.
Lastly, you could go to Fry’s for the $199 special 🙂 (just kidding about Fry’s)

Funny 🙂
I got my washer and dryer at Fry’s, Sears had the same model, would not match the price.May 9, 2012 at 3:33 PM #743389Oni Koroshi
ParticipantWhat’s wrong with Fry’s?

ParticipantStandards of Excellence carries a lot of top end stuff. Never dealt with them though.

ParticipantI would recommend B & B Appliance in Escondido. We were shopping for a double oven and a cooktop. I found B & B to be extremely knowledgable, much more specialized and informative than a best buy/fry’s experience where the same person selling appliances also sells ipods. B & B also does warranty repairs, so they had a lot of insight about specific models to steer away from due to known issues. They ended up matching the best price we found, which I believe was sale price on Best Buy’s website.
We ended up with Bosch for cooktop and double oven and have been very pleased so far.
Our friends bought all Dacor (also from B&B) and have been happy with that brand as well.

worst customer service only rival to Best Buy.
I’d check out Home Depot, Sears, and Amazon.

ParticipantGE Profile makes at least one model of a cabinet-depth S/S Frig. Wherever they sell GE Profile or can order it would be the place to buy one from.

ParticipantB&B gets good reviews. I’ll try them. GE Profile is a good satisficing solution. Have you seen the prices on the GE Monogram fridges?!? Sheesh.

ParticipantGE Profile is my appliance repair guys favorite. They have paid his mortgage and college bills for years. He rates them a buy;)

ParticipantWe got smoking deals at pacific sales(TV), about 3 years ago we went in for the super cheap no–name replica-Stainless steel Side-by-side frig/frz, they were sold out so they sold us a real nice whirlpool (real Stainless Steel for the same price less than $600.00).
Then last year we went in when they were moving locations (in TV) , got a Demo range and hood, as well as a demo dishwasher, and front loading washing machine including pedestal.
I am not even going to tell you what we got them for but it was a super smoking deal, way better than the frig deal even.May 9, 2012 at 6:15 PM #743414Coronita
ParticipantI got my fridge from Sears (Whirpool 3 door type)..
They beat pacific sales prices, and the customer service was really good. Prior to it, I went through 2 LG refrig, didn’t like them, and Sears took care of all the returns. They were cheaper than Home Depot/Pacific Sales….
I have an issue with buying big appliances from Fry’s because as some have mentioned the lack of customer service.May 10, 2012 at 7:46 AM #743428UCGal
ParticipantIf you can figure out what you want – I know folks who’ve ordered from AJ Madison (ajmadison.com)
I’m bummed to hear that Pacific Sales is now associated with Best Buy. I refuse to shop at best buy and we recently bought a range at Pacific Sales. They were the only folks in town who carried Bertazzoni. But we got a free range hood (list price $1k)… so I’m happy with the pacific sales purchase. Haven’t had to deal with warranty.
You can also go to the Sears Outlet store down in Bay Park. I have family members who’ve been very lucky with purchases there. My stepmom got a “dinged” fridge there – the ding is in the back, minor, and no one would know if she didn’t keep bragging about the deal she got.

ParticipantI got a gas cooktop at Worst Buy Online last fall for less than $200 incl tax (clearance) and am very happy with it.
I second UCGal on Sears Outlet (Sherman St just west of Morena Blvd). I’ve bought several appls there over the years which didn’t even have dings and they were all good (two built-ins were just missing minor installation hardware/mouldings which were easily replaced). Delivery is a little pricey there so bring your own truck!
