ParticipantFirst of all I was joking about Rich and the article about dumb San Diego buyers. My point was about how these builders make thier ads look like editorials. It would be funny to throw an “ad” in there to contradicts what these schmoes are printing.

ParticipantA friend of mine made on offer on a home in the hillcrest area. The house she wanted was listed from $675-725. She made an offer of $675. They told her no, they wanted near the top end. WTF!!! Why have the range then? I soon learned that they make these ranges so that if someone does a search for a home under $700k theirs will still pop up in the search but in reality they want over $700k. Anyways, she didn’t counter and walked away. A month later they came back and asked her if she still wanted it for $675. She then offered $650. They said they would take it but she decided not to and had a bad taste in her mouth on how poorly this transaction occured.

Participantagree. Shopping around is not an option right now. I was hoping the market implodes quicker than planned so I can buy and leave. Waiting on the fence for the right price to roll through. This housing market is like a puppet and week after week strings are getting cut and soon the puppet will be laying facedown for the count.

ParticipantI am not renting from a homeowner or condo. I have a 1400 sqft apt in an apartment community. It is the company that is raising the rent.
