I too save about 40% of my (pre-tax) pay. I’ve cut back on my spending, since some parts of my income have dropped with the downturn. Probably excessively conservative, but I can’t stand saving less than last year, so I cut my spending back $1 for each dollar of (after-tax) income I’ve lost.
