If you read the fine print, existing rollover CDs will be renewed at the lower, 6 month CD rate. They are doing a special 7 month CD in order to attract fresh money.

That is why they didn’t offer that nice rate on the 6 month CD…they would have had to give that extra interest to all their existing CDs, which are a sure thing.

It’s just a way to screw their current customers.

Quick question, I’m sure it’s been covered but what is the insurance situation for money market accounts at credit unions for amounts under 100k. Should I hit the panic button and move to a different account? It needs to be liquid and rate isn’t a big factor.
