ParticipantHere’s how I will know when to buy is SD:
1994 – Had a co-worker who bought a house in downtown Sacramento. Another co-worker said to me “he’s making a big mistake, HOUSING IS A TERRIBLE INVESTMENT THESE DAYS”
When I hear something like that (2009/2010??) it will be time to buy.

Hehe, yeah I’ve often said when the front cover of Time Magazine is a boarded-up, foreclosed house under a gray sky, *then* it will be time to buy!April 24, 2008 at 3:48 PM #193893kewp

ParticipantSo if you had a chance to buy something along the coast at 2001 prices, thereabouts, would you do it or do you think coastal will go lower than 2000 prices before this whole mess started? I’m getting mixed info on it’ll take a while for coast to go down. But if and when it does, what’s the possibility of it going lower than 2001 prices? Does anyone think getting a place along the coast for 2001 prices is safe to not fall too far below that?
