Yeah.
Still.
Doesn’t mean it’s not an arrow in the quiver.
Damn nazis are so humorless.
If there had been cable back then with Jewish comedians…….
Maybe?
Ever see the move life is beautiful, comedy set in z concentration camp?
September 29, 2013 at 4:54 PM #765939SD RealtorParticipantPerhaps when the victims in the mall cracked some jokes when they could not come up with the correct names when they were being quizzed about Islam before they were shot.
September 29, 2013 at 5:06 PM #765940scaredyclassicParticipantWell sure no form of communication will work when things have gotten out of hand.
But what about before the crisis.
Does eternal vigilance require eternal humorless ness.
I remember wondering when the onion would make the first 9/11 joke after 9/11.
It took a while. But it came.

September 29, 2013 at 5:19 PM #765942SD RealtorParticipantHumor is fine. Those who think it will protect them from hatred and ignorance are sadly mistaken.
Humor is good for cases like, you know, when you are at the gym working out and people are there just to be posers.
September 29, 2013 at 5:27 PM #765943scaredyclassicParticipantWhat will protect us?
September 29, 2013 at 5:28 PM #765944scaredyclassicParticipantIs it possible the only way to really change the world is one positive human interaction at a time?
September 29, 2013 at 8:08 PM #765946scaredyclassicParticipantWho is more likely to improve race relations; Chris rock or Jesse Jackson?
September 30, 2013 at 3:24 PM #765973FlyerInHiGuest
do we only support israel because it’s a jewish state?
or is it location, location, location?
I think it’s location, namely oil.
Before WWII the European powers had virtually free access to oil. After WWII, the independence movements were threatening that access.
The Europeans were weakened and, at the behest of Britain, the CIA overthrew a democratic government in Iran that wanted to nationalize the British oil company.
We didn’t need the oil because we have plenty in in North and South America. But we wanted to help our European allies.
Israel was a proxy in the Middle East and the Jews played America for protection to ensure their existential survival. Add to that the Cold War considerations.
America got suckered into this whole thing at great cost and little benefit.
Israel played its cards well. And who can blame them? Jews worked hard for what they got.
White people were oil grubbing thugs and thieves who felt entitled to the resources. We paid the price in military spending. The war on terrorism, all the aid to Egypt and Israel, and the current stalemate (that’s costing us money) is our comeuppance. Also let’s not forget all the lost business opportunities from peaceful trade.
Moral of the story: work and earn your money to buy what you want. Jewish people are good at that and we can’t help but to admire the work ethic. Jewish people excel in business and academics through perseverance and hard work. Other groups should learn from that and start studying and working.

Aside from the fact that this guy is kooky, I do agree with him regarding the U.S. Treasury having control over our currency. I have yet to see a truly compelling argument favoring a central bank, outside of the Treasury, in the U.S.

The Netherlands is generally a country I don’t associate with sponsored prejudice, hatred, bigotry or racism, and is arguably in a fairly neutral position regarding this matter.

If you don’t normally associate The Netherlands with hatred, bigotry or racism, you probably should.
