I went to Home Depot with a couple thousand other people.

Seriously. Second day in a row. It wasn’t packed, but noticeably busy.

Trying to get my Mom’s house prepped for sale. I hope housing has some life in it late this Spring.

No pics, but played golf. A private cart was available for every golfer. We kept safe with no touch high fives for great shots and no touch handshakes at the end of the round.

Home depot had a 10% off coupon. Can’t remember where (wife found it)but I used it.

Planted garden, tons of home projects still to be done.

Noticed neighborhood kids outside playing in the street and on bikes!

Cops showed up to a front yard party by some neighbors enforcing social gatherings and distance. Seriously. They were all spaced apart before the cops arrived.

Some schmo must have called them and they didn’t disband the party.

Worked on Yard a little.

First time in a week no rain, I am so sick of rain.

We need a heatwave LOL.

Since Las Vegas and Barona are closed, we taught my teen how to gamble.
She kicked the rest of our butts, winning 2 of the 4 rounds. It was a nice 5 hour family time with 3 generations.

I think today I’m going to teach my kid how to drive, even though she wont be licensed for awhile.

This is your Home Depot report for the day.

Not nearly as crowded today as the last two days.

Parking lot and store noticeably barren around 8:30 a.m.

Later in the day, was back to maybe just a bit lighter traffic than a normal Sunday.

People seem pretty good about giving each other space.

The city closed the beach parking lots because too many people “gathering”.

Made a quick in-n-out trip to Home Depot Saturday to get supplies for my projects. parking lot was totally packed, but amazingly people found a way to keep distance at the store…it was almost like we had invisible shields around us.

Been working on those projects all weekend…they came together very nicely. I bet my backyard will look the best its ever looked this summer.

I’m trying to get everything I need now cuz I’m not going to want to be anywhere near a store for the next few weeks.

We tried remote ordering groceries from Ralphs. The shopper was very nice…we ordered about 60 items (a normal trip for us) and she kept calling via cell to tell me what was there and what wasn’t so we could substitute. What I didn’t know at the time was it was all tied in through Instacart and they put up roadblocks between the shopper and me for texting…that’s why she had to call.

In the end, I’m not sure it reduced my exposure much because she was touching everything I would have touched and brought them to us in reusable bags that we had to return to her. It cost me $10 delivery plus tip and the only exposure it probably saved me was the airborne exposure of the others in the store…if CV was on any of the items I was just as exposed as if would have went myself.

.. Finished 6 oil changes. 4 Germans ,2 mazdas, 3 4 cylinder, 2 6 cylinder, 1 8 cylinder turbo. 30 quarts of oil…Also spent about $350 filling up all the cars with gas. lol.

Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle sprayed on the boxes or packaging material.

Changed the differential fluid of my dedicated Lemons track car, after finally being able to crack open the fill and drain plug, by lifting the car with a floor jack, put a breaker bar in place resting against the floor, and then dropping the car fast and hard on the ground….what rednecks like me do when we don’t have the proper impact air wrench, heh heh.

I don’t think anyone ever changed the differential fluid for the past 26 years and 153k miles. It came out almost black.

Also took out the headliner from my other car to replace the sagging fabric on it. Have to figure out a way to remove all that glue/adhesive.

Arrived about 9 am to pick up a few small things. There was a line of people waiting to go into the store.

One of the employees said they were letting 100 people into the store at a time. As one person left, they let one in. Another employee said it was 150. I’m not sure which. I asked if the city was making them do this or the corporation. They said it was a corporate decision.

I waited about 15 minutes to get into the store. There was no line at the cashier.

If you’re going to Home Depot each day, could I ask you to pick me up a pipe wrench? Lol. I’m kidding. I do need a pipe wrench, but I’m too scared to go to the store because I know the moment I step foot in any home improvement, tool, or auto store, I’m going to want to stay there for awhile to browse. So I just paid the $6 shipping and ordered stuff from Harbor Freight.

Got my automotive paint delivered to me by Amazon from a company called Restoration Shop, single stage paint. I’m going to try to disassemble most of my lemons track car and restore and repaint it over the the next couple of months, one panel at a time, taking out every dent in every panel. Since it’s a single stage, solid color, non metallic paint, it should be pretty easy.

Interestingly Amazon’s algorithm to ship priority/essential items seems to be busted. Amazon publicized they were going to prioritize shipment of essential, health related items first, even for prime members. However, things like an oxygen mask, dehumidifier, bandages which were all in stock doesn’t ship until April 21st-22. Meanwhile, automotive paint, automotive body filler, PDR dent removal tools, automotive primer, and a catalytic converter that I placed after the more essential items ended up shipping first and I’m expecting to get them this week. Go figure.
