Well, Ex-SD, it’s nice to see this type of more honest and balanced article than we saw for most of the last 10 years, but I hope the rest of the article is better-researched than the second sentence “..since the 1990 savings and loan crisis…”. Wasn’t the S&L crisis an 80’s phenomenon, or am I going senile?

That makes sense. The lure of money leads even corporations to make financial decisions illogically, not just Dick and Jane when buying a house.

In a way I understand why they did it, and in another way I still can’t grasp what they were thinking.

As far as the bailout, it cracks me up how the media is already starting to criticize Bush for not doing anything soon enough. Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn’t Congress make the laws, and the FED and GSE’s handle finance?
