    Got an estimate from the lender today … it seems they’ve added a few hundred bucks for “transfer tax.” I know there will be a recording fee payable to the county, but my understanding is that transfer taxes aren’t due on refis.

    Has anyone else been charged a transfer tax in San Diego County? Thanks in advance for the benefit of your experience.

    Just closed cash out refi on 7/29. No transfer taxes. Wish I could lock today’s rate.
