Submarkets aside, its pretty clear that nationally housing is currently softening. The plunge in mortgage applications is one telling indicator. Another is the shift from appreciation to depreciation in the case shiller index (in 18 of 20 markets I believe).
I believe San Diego, as a whole, will soon follow suit. The pause in the housing decline appears to be over. I think this will be visible in the San Diego markets by this Fall, but I’m not absolutely sure about this. I’m more confident in the general trend than exact timing.
Best of luck to all.
The economy is on life support, right now.
If Obama cannot pass another stimulus, be prepared for another leg down. The Federal reserve will likely act if Congress won’t.

Rather than the typical Tuscan house in Fairbanks this is more my idea of a dream house.

We have *finally* found something to agree on! I guess it had to happen eventually.
That house, and the ethic underlying it, is wonderful.June 19, 2010 at 11:15 AM #567310KSMountainParticipant
Brian, I like the house, too. Love the deck and all the light coming in through the roof slats or cantilevers. Have some of those “slide-out built-ins” in my house and love them. Not crazy about a metal roof, though and gotta have a one-story for my next house to save my joints – LOL!
The Richards-designed property on Albion in La Playa (I posted earlier on this thread) fills the bill for me. Love the built-in bookcases and all the wood inside. The occupant of your house has just piled his books floor to ceiling – lol.
