Somebody is real P.O.’d at ZILLOW

Since I sold my home last May ’07… I have been lurking and reading but not posting much. I have noticed, since January of ’07, amount of the homes priced under 400k go from 1-41, in my neck of the woods. Most I think are troubled and/or foreclosures.

I was checking on my old homes value on zillow, when low and behold, the (zestimate)price was pretty close to what they bought it for. It was a shocker because usually they are so WAY OUT there.
Anyway, I was looking at houses in the surrounding area and noticed a question on one.

..this guy just got screwed…I think he actually believed the prices on zillow were acurate…he reassessed his own home for only 185k pre 9/11 price!

Oh by the way, there is a house on the same street listed now @319k 1600sq. ft with in ground pool….it’s been listed a long time and keeps dropping..Could this be why?

I concentrate on UNDER 400k, because THEN we are getting into actual territory, where prices are at what, the median income can actually really afford. It is getting back to reality in Santee faster than other areas, it seems to me. I don’t mind that people west of I15, don’t happen to care for my area. I rather like less traffic.

Until shown otherwise, I’m going to listen to my gut and go with I suspect this is a rascally lawyer or someone with a rascally lawyer trying to invalidate the mortgage on a legal technicality.

The “owner” has posted pleadings trying to strike stuff due to the former mortgage firms (Ownit) being out of business.

Zillow may be overstating home values, but surely the house isn’t really worth 185k? When was the last time anyone saw a sub-200k detached house in Greater San Diego?L

Exactly……but he may have found out somehow it isn’t worth what he paid for it.. and may be even knows that the market is supposed to over correct.. and maybe he wants a discount on those 450 a month taxes he’s payin’!!!!! LOL!

by the way there IS a house in Lakeside on a quarter acre that has come down to 150k……albeit probably a teardown…but it had been listed a long time for 285k.
