Of course, by 2050, the kids that graduated college this spring will be retiring. If they work a government job like Fireman, Police, etc, they will be retired for 15 year by the time this happens…
This kind of article comes out every year. It’s primary purpose is to plan and potential prop up the need for big government.
That said, the important thing to remember is 43 years is a long time. After WW2, the great suburban shift occured. Maybe after the oil wars of twenty-teens, the great Urban Arcology migration will begin or something equally different from today.

ParticipantOkay, the 4 wives comment was stupid and out of line and I apologize for that. My prevailing sentiment remains – I’d rather learn the new official language than have to live in a theocracy.

ParticipantAgreed, this article is HIGHLY SUSPECT in terms of timing. Unfortunately, I will guarantee you that this article will be used by unscrupulous Realtors to scare sheeple buyers into becoming debt slaves.

ParticipantThe timing of the article is consistent with the timing of the Department of Finance population information. It has nothing to do with what is/isn’t happening in the housing market. Every year at this time, this information is released by the state. It coincides with the end of the state fiscal year.

Participantit projects a 1% growth rate… hardly anything to be up in arms about.
by then, all the jobs will be outsourced to mexico anyway. californians will be border jumping to work in the maquiladoras.
