I challenged a friend to go skiing with me. The dude talks about sports and strength all the time. I know that I would elegantly slide down the mountain while his fatass falls down. Makes fun of me for eating tofu. If I retort “not a fatass like you”, then OMG the “fuck you” comes out and the feelings are hurt.
Why do “real men” feel the need to put down others with little insults, when they themselves perceive disrespect all around. For god’s sake, why do those fatasses resent people for shopping at Whole Foods and eating tofu? They can make their own money and shop wherever they want!

FLU, I’m with you, Team Pelosi!! She’s from one of the most liberal districts on the planet and even she’s sick of the 4 radicals. I think you are right, there may be a splinter, the moderate democrats and moderate republicans could form a new moderate party. I’ve been in it most of my life but it never had a name or a convention. That’s really what Ross represented for me, he was the most legitimate 3rd party candidate I had ever seen. But it slipped away.
California already has the splinter going right now, they have three parties in state politics, the republicans, the progressives and the “mods.” Today the Mods are moderate democrats but that could change. It reminds me of the UK, or all the other first world countries for that matter. Maybe Ross’ legacy will come to pass.

I realize my previous reasons for hating Pelosi was misguided. She’s actually pretty decent imho. She earned her please in Congress. I will never understand the fascination for AOC, Warren, Harris, Bernie.
I’m not too worried. One day we will get back to the days of normalcy where far extremes on the left or right are shunned…

If the democrats splinter, then voila, you have the 3rd party you wanted. So why hate on Bernie and the squad? They are the dream come true.
While we’re at it, let’s welcome a communist party like they have in Europe so that we become more of a parliamentary democracy.

It could also be the first signs of early dementia. I read on a thread here that one of the first signs of dementia is if an individual forgets the smell of peanut butter…. Time to start sniffing to find out.

Anyway, if you asked 10,000 different US residents what “being an American” stood for, you’d likely get 20,000 different answers.

When it comes time to recite the Shema prayer, half of the congregation stands and the other half sits. The half who stand say, “Of course we stand for the Shema. It’s the credo of Judaism. Throughout history, thousands of Jews have died with the words of the Shema on their lips.” The half who remain seated say, “No. According to the Shulchan Aruch (the code of Jewish law), if you are seated when you get to the Shema you remain seated.”
The people who are standing yell at the people who are sitting, “Stand up!” while the people who are sitting yell at the people who are standing, “Sit down!” It’s destroying the whole decorum of the service, and driving the new rabbi crazy. Finally, it’s brought to the rabbi’s attention that at a nearby home for the aged is a 98-year-old man who was a founding member of the congregation. So, in accordance with Talmudic tradition, the rabbi appoints a delegation of three, one who stands for the Shema, one who sits, and the rabbi himself, to go interview the man. They enter his room, and the man who stands for the Shema rushes over to the old man and says, “Wasn’t it the tradition in our synagogue to stand for the Shema?”
“No,” the old man answers in a weak voice. “That wasn’t the tradition.”
The other man jumps in excitedly. “Wasn’t it the tradition in our synagogue to sit for the Shema?”
“No,” the old man says. “That wasn’t the tradition.”
At this point, the rabbi cannot control himself. He cuts in angrily. “I don’t care what the tradition was! Just tell them one or the other. Do you know what goes on in services every week — the people who are standing yell at the people who are sitting, the people who are sitting yell at the people who are standing—”
“That was the tradition,” the old man says.
