I’ve used PenFed twice for home loans and was VERY happy both times. When I refinanced last year, I ended up switching to AIMLOAN (who was also great) simply because I wanted a 30 yr. fixed and PenFed is mostly known for their 5/5 ARMS.
I also have a PenFed credit card and have been very happy.
All in all, a really great credit union. If all the banks were like this, I think a lot of this funny money financial stuff never would have happened.

If you are buying a used car, keep in mind that they will require you to email or fax a copy of the title to them before they will release the funds. Apparently they had some problems with shady car dealers “selling” cars they did not in fact have title to.
