OT: voting place in a different jurisdiction?

Does it seem odd that I live outside the city of San Diego (in 4S Ranch) but that my polling place is within the San Diego city limits (in Rancho Bernardo)? Won’t it be kinda confusing to have some of the people at that polling site eligible to vote for mayor, etc, and others not? I’m kinda surprised that they don’t split this. Anyone see anything similar in the past?

I believe that voting is run by the county, not the city. If you lived outside the county of San Diego but your polling place was in the county of San Diego, I would think that was weird.

As mentioned – the Registrar of Voters is a county department – not city.

The polling location may support multiple precincts. Each precinct will only have the ballots for races/initiatives for that precinct.

AFAIK – precincts will not cross city lines.

Thanks you two. It did not occur to me that a single polling location could support multiple precincts. Very interesting; I will also ask the poll workers and see what explanation they give. 🙂
