But we are from Southern California, so we do not fit the stereotype. We’re crazy. Find me a traditional, conservative Southern Californian and you will have found me someone who moved here. Although not an absolute, sunshine and pretty people to look at kind of takes the hate out of you. Name the last car-flipping riot in San Diego. The 2007 wildfires in San Diego was the second largest evacuation in US history, almost nothing bad happened. Compare that to Katrina. We’re different, maybe not better or worse, but different.

paramount, what about if you look at it from this angle. a nice young Gd fearing boy who is gay goes through conversion therapy and gets cured of his gayosity. he still has residual glimmers inside him that maybe he likes men, because women are not making him hard, but he does have a certificate of cure from his therapist that he is definitely not gay no more, so he figures once he is ina blessed Union with the right girl he’llbe able to get it on..
He is just dying to be a regualr fellow, so he does his duty to his mom and dad and marries a nice girl from the same church, but he’s still not feeling it. however, he really want kids so he jacks off inside his wife once a month or so, while thinking of all the good looking men at church, and thereby is able to reproduce in a standard nuclear family wih his clever strategy.
heck there’s probably some of these families around us here in temecula even!
That’s a “man and a woman” having a child, but is it really what you think is the ultimate criteria for judging the soundness of the family?
Is that really bound to be resulting in superior chidlren, than the same gay guy who is married to a man he loves, jerking off in the privacy of a doctor’s office, which doctor then manually implants the seed in the very same woman and has the exact same genetic children, but raised by a family that at least has the potential for deep, loving relationships? and at least isn’t based on fraud?
seems like pretty much the same process to me, justa different delivery system.
if we are going to ban gay marriage, i propose we limit the ban to marriages between gay men and straight women, or gay women and straight men. Clearly those are effed up.
or maybe not. maybe i’m being intolerant there too…maybe that’s the next edgy lifestyle…weird, wild, wet, wicked and wanton…that’s temecula, baby…living on the edge…
kinda reminds me of roseanne barr’s comedy about life on the edge…
A lot of stuff bugs me about being married and a lot of stuff bugs me about husbands y’know. Like when they all the time wanna talk to ya. I hate that. He comes in and says “Roseanne. Don’t you think we should talk about our sexual problems?” Like I’m gonna turn off Wheel Of Fortune for that. Put it on a gift certificate babe. ….. But you know what I think, I think husbands and the very best of men. There the Cadillacs of men. Cause at least they can make a commitment and deal with life. Not like these young bucks, they young warrior types. “Well Roseanne, I’m not ready to settle down, I’m living life of the edge of the fast lane.” Sure get in a relationship and face the real danger. Look a mortgage in the face for thirty years. You sky-diving wimps. But this bugs me the worst, it’s when the husband thinks the wife knows where everything is huh. Like they think the uterus is a tracking device. Cause he comes in and goes “Hey Roseanne, do we have any Cheetos left?” Like he can’t go over a lift up that sofa cushion himself.

Except that L.A. has similar climate and access to pretty people, yet it had BRUTAL riots in 1968(?) and 1991.
The Katrina evacuation vs San Diego were two different cans of worms. Correct me if I’m wrong, but most of the areas affected by the bushfires were far wealthier and less densely populated than large parts of NOLA, and also SD city government isn’t nearly as corrupt and incompetent as NOLA’s.

I’m not opposed to gay marriage
I’m not opposed to gay adoption
I am opposed to gays being recognized as a minority of any typeI do think children should be adopted to male/femaile nuclear families if at all possible
I do think the gay agenda should be kept out of elem school curriculumsAs far as degrees of being gay and all of that, it hurts my head to even ponder that so I don’t even wade into those waters. I’m not that wise.
Is being gay natural? I’m not sure, but please consider the following:
If 2 animals of the same sex (male in this example) are in an enclosed area long enough, they may attempt to hump each other. And that fact is often held up by the gay community to assert that being gay is normal.
However, if a female is thrown into the mix there won’t be any gay humping.
Disclaimer: Don’t try this at home…

The “gays” ARE a minority. Just as people with black skin are a minority in this country. As are people of Asian heritage. As are Jews. How can you dispute that? Or is it that you just don’t want anyone to talk about it?
November 23, 2013 at 12:11 PM #768379NotCrankyParticipantSince you are an expert on dogs, paramount, what is going on when a dog humps your leg? A male dog? How about when it is a female dog? What if your kids see all this? Would you let these dogs have puppies?

November 23, 2013 at 12:23 PM #768381spdrunParticipantSpeaking for myself, I’d be opposed to any sort of affirmative action to get more gays into workplaces/schools/”certified LGBTQ-owned businesses”/whatever. However, I’m opposed to this for ALL minorities, women, etc. Let applicants stand on their merits, with some exceptions given for economic status.
If I’m a child of poor immigrants, I should be treated any better or worse if I’m Bulgarian or from Botswana, but my economic status and schools I grew up with should be taken into account when applying to university.
In short, I’m against all institutionalized discrimination, whether reverse, forward, sideways, or upside-down. I might be a universal bigot in this regard, don’t know 🙂

Dog humping occurs when a dog is confused b/c they have been removed from the pack, or they want to dominate you.

you guys seen the video of the 18 year old engineering student from iowa raised by two moms testifying before iowa lawmakers on his family? it was pretty compelling. i’ll try to dig it up. kinda makes one woder about the “in generals” what may be better are perhaps subsumed by the compellingness of the individuals…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMLZO-sObzQ%5B/quote%5D
That is an amazing video. Thank you for sharing.
And thanks to that young man for so eloquently speaking those thoughts.
November 23, 2013 at 5:50 PM #768387HobieParticipantI don’t know but educators are supposed to understand how children think. Specifically, at the elementary level, boys thinks girls have cooties, or whatever term is hip today. To introduce them to the gay concept is off their radar at this age. But they do understand an adopted kid.
I really think rather that get bogged down in the gay issue, the text and lesson should focus on adoption of a child. Period. Teach these kids that an adopted child is the same as every other kid in school. Big lesson here.
Now as the kids mature, you can introduce gay parents, non-traditional lifestyles etc. Fine. Early elem education including two mom adopting a kid complicates the issue and to me points to an agenda.
I could be argued that captitalists are exploiting the liberal educators and playing into their hand and creating new textbooks for sale at taxpayers expense.
I dunno.

ok. What about gays as a recognized group for purposes of a hate crime? can they be recognized as a minority for that?
perhaps the radical gay agenda in pointing to “two moms” , assuming it exists, is acknowledging that gays exist, and their existence is legitimate and they a r e human beings, coeequal in all regards as other humans, even humans who are hetero, and the ultimate goal of the radical agenda, is to prevent the formation of attiudes that would tend to dehumanize gays and cause hate crimes. like torturing and murdering people cause they’re perceived to be gay.
radical, man.
November 23, 2013 at 6:18 PM #768390spdrunParticipantSpeaking for myself personally, I don’t think the legal concept of “hate crimes” should exist at all. I think whatever happens (assault, mayhem, murder, etc) should be tried as the offense itself and punished appropriately, subject to a judge’s discretion. Motives are less important than actions, and the actions should be punished.
