Affirmative action is getting a job that you are not qualified to fill for the simple fact that you are not a white male.
Obama has gotten the nomination because:
1) He’s not Bush
2) He’s not Hillary
3) He’s black
4) He sounds like the candy man in every one of his speeches. His nomination has nothing to do with his experience or DEMONSTRATED ability to lead anything. He has none.
Either…
1) You can back up your statements here. You’ve seen an exit survey from voters saying they voted for Obama for the reasons you mentioned above.
2) You’re full of crap.

The guy is well educated, has shown pretty good judgement regarding the war, and is one of the best political speakers out there. Given the current environment, I would say timing was on his side too. It seems like the American people are so sick of the current regime, that they are willing to look at some fresh new person, even if they are underqualified. No one stepped aside or GAVE it to him because he was part black. He fought a long hard primary and beat the competition. The people came out in record numbers to vote & he is the person with the most votes. That is not affirmative action, that is democracy.
