ParticipantWe used to live in Carmel Valley, and now have a few rentals there. We can’t believe how much the area has changed over the years.
Sadly, if something drastic isn’t done soon, this type of activity will, no doubt, increase in every area–especially when many of the kids in San Diego, and California in general, realize they may never be able to afford to live here after leaving Mom & Dad’s little nest!

Participant
Does this crime wave take some of the sheen and glow off of Carmel Valley?
I know bank holdups happen elsewhere… but I read so much about how perfect Carmel Valley is – above average schools, above average kids… it’s better than Lake Wobegon. Except it has banks that get robbed.
LOL! That is classic UCGal!

Participant
It’s not just the banks. They robbed the Del Mar Highlands movie theater not long ago, and also the Subway in Carmel Piazza.
Interesting. Regarding the Subway, when and what time of day? Do you have a link to a news article? I go there a lot.
