Well, don’t give up on SD dealers. BUT, use Costco! They will shop for you. Usually, it’s below invoice.

The shell at carmel valley road of of 56 has an oil change shop that does royal purple too.
I do my own oil service. Takes 15 mins for the SUV, takes 30 mins for the audi (because of german overengineering)
The best carwash that is automated is the one at the new mobil station off of 56 next to the Intuit offices for a lightly soiled car. The wash is brushless, and uses high pressure washer sprayers.

July 18, 2008 at 4:10 PM #242276anParticipantYeah, I used to do my own oil change too. It just take too much time, so I got lazy and let other people do it for me. This place pump my tires and top off all fluids. 5 quarter of Royal Purple = $30+(depending on shipping/tax cost) in oil alone. $10 for the car wash (this is a hand wash place) and you’re looking at $20-25 for the labor. Not too shabby of a deal since it would definitely take me 30+ minutes to do mine too. Then I’d have to take the oil to Kragen to dispose of it. So it’s more like 1 hr of my time.
