ParticipantI definitely will get it used though, when it fall to around $30k-ish.
Around 2015?
I test drove EVO IX once, it’s a fun car. Kinda like my old S2000 on steroids. (But with horrible cheap interior) I even considered buying an EVO X. Unfortunately, the future of gas prices is too uncertain and I can’t risk spending that much $$ on a gas guzzler. My plan is to stick with two wheels for now, to find a sucker who buys my BMW, and possibly to get an electric car in early ’09.

ParticipantHave you folks noticed that recently, auto makers have been dropping V8’s for Inline 4, or 6 with forced induction? It’s pretty funny.
I know a lot of it has to do more with the latest CAFEregulations and upcoming CAFE regulations, but I’m sure the is was sort of accelerated by gas prices.
I’ve been reading that the 2.0TFSI in audis are now going to start incorporating some energy regeneration and BMW’s is adding start and stop engine management to their lineup. What’s amazing to me is how fast some of the manufacturers are planning to do all these changes.
esmith, no doubt crap interior. EVO and WRX STI aren’t exactly built for aesthetic reasons.

Participantesmith, the Audi A4 2.0T actually get better MPG than the TSX. 20/31 vs 20/28. That’s splitting hair, but still :-).
Yeah, 2015 would be when my G35 should be ready to die. That would be perfect timing for me actually.
Turbo cars are so easy to tune, it’s ridiculous. The EVO IX gets around 330AWHP from just a chip, intake, and cat-back. Haltech already have a GT-R with nothing more than a chip running 11.1 sec in the 1/4 miles.
FLU, I do noticed the turbo trend and I’m cheering it every step of the way. Benz already announced that they’ll be replacing all their engine with turbo variant w/in 2.5 years. Ford is announcing they’re replacing their F150 engines with a 2.5L I4 turbo making 260HP and 300 ft-lb of tq and 3.5L V6 TT making 350HP and 390 ft-lb of tq.
