i have a surveillance system at my property. I’m able to view the cameras remotely on my smart phone. pretty cool.

If you really want to track the car, you just tap into the car’s Onstar, BMW assist, Mercedes SOS, (insert your favorite car tracking system here)…
Too difficult for a housewife to do. Easier for her to just sign up for the tracking plan with the cell phone carrier.

November 11, 2010 at 11:32 AM #629449RenParticipant
Eh? Starbucks wi-fi used to cost, then it was free for AT&T customers, then it was free for everybody and now they’re actually spending money to attract people to use it. Hotels have always been hit or miss.
Don’t get me wrong, I still have my cell phone, but free wi-fi is hardly going the way of the dodo. At least, not yet.
Then you’re a lot luckier than I am. As recently as a year ago (before I broke down and got a cellular modem), I was able to find free wi-fi about 10% of the time when looking for it, which was far less than a few years before that.
Anyway that’s good news, although I’d rather not be tied to one particular chain restaurant for my Internet needs π

November 11, 2010 at 11:32 AM #629444CoronitaParticipantMost of you folks suck. You aren’t helping me out financially. Go buy a nice android smartphone today, because you deserve to have one. Or get yourself a nice android based tablet…. like the Samsung Galaxy Tab…
http://galaxytab.samsungmobile.com/
Ok…Truth is that for my person phone, I only have a voice plan…And I’ve disabled receiving/sending SMS on my personal plan… I’m too cheap to get a personal web access plan…However, I deal with the data crap for work/biz all the time….
On the extreme side, where I go with my backpack, I have 4 phones, one for each carrier….So I never have an issue with a dropped call π
