By the time the 18-29 Gen Y’s realize they should be working at QCOM they’re already in the next age group……….
Holy crud.
The 28k/year I was paid out of college is looking pretty lame. (That’s wasn’t for Q, but for another local company.)
A friend started at Q in the mid 80’s and was making about $33k. Her pay accelerated as she rose the corporate ladder.
Meanwhile, I got a job at a small engineering firm outside of NYC after college 10 years ago. Starting salary was north of $50k. The owner was kind of an ass, but it was still more pleasant than corporate America 🙂
If I had to leave Cali, I wouldn’t mind moving to NYC – but I hear the job market is tough in and around NYC.
