In absent of some major geo-political event that creates a long term interruption.
As long as Gas stays above 3 Dollars, people will gradually move to small cars and plug-in Hybrids ,
Truck fleets will move to Nat Gas and synthetic fuels , it will be a little painful but not disastrous .And no it will not be the end of suburbia as we know it.
