Yea very thin IMO,
They did not bother to ask where they would want to buy.
(Malibu is not in the same leauge “market” as escondido).
I think there will alway be some High end markets that will hold up better but they are very few in number.
And the average Piggington is not really interested in these area’s (Not without some sort of windfall anyway).

June 19, 2007 at 7:45 AM #60389hipmattParticipantCorrect.. if the very rich expect home prices to start climbing again, they should be buying up “investment” homes like mad…. well.. they have a huge selection.. but all I hear is crickets.
Its easier said than done, they need to start putting their money where their mouth is.

June 19, 2007 at 8:18 AM #60395PDParticipantI would like to know how the people surveyed became rich. Are they sports pros, actors, second generation rich people? Plus, how do they define rich?
Over a year ago I had a long conversation with a guy who owns a successful financial planning firm. He told me that his most sophisticated clients had been selling their real estate investments.June 19, 2007 at 8:18 AM #60428PDParticipantI would like to know how the people surveyed became rich. I’d have less of aproblem with this propaganda if they presented the other side of this argument.

June 19, 2007 at 10:58 AM #60439BugsParticipantWhat’s interesting locally is that the number of high-dollar home sales are in decline and the number of actives is increasing.
I still don’t think there are enough of “the rich” to have an effect on the region.
