The big question will be how they plan to administer it?
Who will get it, how much, etc??Will those who recklessly heloc’ed and refied out all their equity and now can’t make the payments(boo hoo) get bailed out? Do they get to keep the Hummer, RVs and pool that they used the money on?
What if you stood no chance of making the payments anyways?
Will you have to plead that you were “duped” into taking on a loan that you weren’t fully aware of to qualify?
Can you play the “minority” card and get a bailout?
There are many more questions to determine who gets what…
if it does go through, it will be the biggest fluster cuck

“Alarcon, however, said the $100 million Affordable Housing Trust Fund, seemed a logical source of funding for his proposal. He had proposed taking $5 million from the fund for the effort.”
…
“Alarcon’s proposal called for making low-interest loans of up to $10,000 each to help people caught in the bind resulting from subprime mortgages and a drop in the housing market”So basically a max of 500 homes, and I doubt $10,000 will do more than kick the can three months down the road. That’s a half of a month of homes. In July, LA county had 1074 foreclosures.
As I recall that clown’s comments on the morning news, he literally said something along the lines of ‘I know it won’t make a difference, but it’s about making a statement to the people’.

August 23, 2007 at 4:23 PM #80010drunkleParticipanti wonder how many people you could get to show up at city hall wearing “Chronic Gambler Needs Bailout… Too” sandwich board signs…
edit:
better yet, get all the homeless people up there with signs “Homeless since 1970, need bailout too”

August 23, 2007 at 4:32 PM #80177AnonymousGuestThey still need to actually reach the people they are trying to help. I find it hard to imagine people who are behind on payments and are getting calls from creditors answering their phone often if they see an unknown number. They probably will miss out on this because of fear of who is on the other line.
