Yes, this is step in the right direction.
I also have a problem with socialist programs such as traffic lights (the free market should decide who goes first), but that’s a different conversation altogether.
lol, oh that’s brilliant! Consider it stolen!
Free market traffic management would be for countries like Communist Cuba and Vietnam. π The biggest SUV gets to go first.

That’s why I have a SUV now….Works for me when I was driving in L.A. recently.. Never needed to worry about people cutting me off.

http://www.wvec.com/news/local/Law-will-let-two-wheelers-go-through-red-lights-119919404.html
Law will let two-wheelers go on red in Va.
RICHMOND — Beginning July 1, it will be okay for motorcyclists and bicyclists and moped drivers to go through a red light.
Sensors under the roadway can’t detect the two-wheelers, so the law is intended to have stoplights treated light stop signs.
The new law allows two-wheel vehicles to pass through as long as there’s no oncoming traffic and after either waiting 120 seconds at a red light or waiting for two light cycles.
The two-wheelers, however, must yield to oncoming traffic that is actually going on the green
