    I have an even better idea. It’s not savings that kill our economy, it’s the savers. So just shoot the people who save the most. Kills two birds with one stone: reduces overpopulation and stimulates the economy the way Krugman and all the other pols and economists want.

    To avoid too many complaints and.. messiness, just announce you’ll shoot one person each year from each zip code – the person who saves the most.

    Yup. Most people don’t understand currency debasement, whereas they would understand if you told them that all dollars with a serial number ending in 4 are now worthless. Governments can get away with all kinds of stuff, if they do it right. Not saying it’s fair, but that’s the way the world is.

Governments can get away with all kinds of stuff, if they do it right. Not saying it’s fair, but that’s the way the world is.

    Why only once a year? I’m thinking that once a week or at least once a month would be better. We could have a public ceremony where the shooting would take place. Can you imagine all the folks coming down to La Jolla every friday night for the weekly “Kill the rich saver” party.

    Or maybe we could take a lesson from the Romans, and put two or three rich savers in a cage with lions, and see who manages to make it out.

    Just think of the good public entertainment you could get out of this if it was done right. That’s always good for keeping the masses from rioting.

    Is this the modern day version of the French Revolution and guillotines? Maybe instead of a tea party and throwing tea into the water, just tie up few savers and rich people and throw them into the water….
